Posted - 05 Aug 2010 : 2:18:46 PM In the ring, We have been Buisy ... 2 local mid week shows. And we have enjoyed them both , apart from the weather :(
Last wed was Cardigan Agri Show and we took Autumn (Crossleys Raindancer) Who stood alone in her in-hand class (2 no shows) And we were dissapointed to find NO ridden class for purbreds and them bannished from the foreign breeds ridden classes as i was told "they have there own classes" We dont :( needless to say letter is in the post. The part bred-ridden took Champ & Res Champ in the Arab classes and as usual it was a blustery day up on top of the hill but such wonderfull views as you see in a couple of the pics.
This wed was Nevern Show and we decided to take both girls, the weather in the morning was bad, wind and rain and our classes at 9am. Maisie, (Ora El Masra) has not been shown in 5 years as she is not a show girl, she never liked it as a youngster so we just didnt show her. But at 7 years old she has grown up at last newly backed and rather plump lol Amanda took her in the in-hand class gaining a respectable 3rd in a class of 7 purbreds, with Autumn (crossleys raindancer) handled by Amandas friend winning the class. just a couple pics of Maisie.
THEN THE RAIN CAME DOWN
Then Autumn went into the ridden pure/pb/anglo and came a respectable 3rd in a class of 10 behind 2 PB, making Autumn top ridden purebred, the winner eventually taking supreme horse in show. Didnt get any pics as by this time i was at the box with a rather norty Maisie who didnt like being left alone. The weather by the afternoon was a bit better so decided to stay and have a go at the unaffiliated showjumping but 1st give Maisie a little ride around, she has only been ridden around the fields at home getting her going forward.
She looks more like a pretty cob than an arab, such a little puddin lol But she is 14.3hh just a little shorty lol and such a good girl. Then it was Autumn's turn again,SHOWJUMPING she had a clear round in the mini round as a warm up then came a creadable 3rd in the senior open class a friend took some realy good pics so will get some up when i get them. So to end the day it was smiles all round and the sun came out eventually
And Maisie had settled down in the trailer alone and was happily munching her haynet .... such a good 7 year old baby

Ora El Masra looks like she is one much loved filly. She must be the only daughter of Ora El Masri in the UK?
