Posted - 04 Aug 2010 : 2:50:36 PM I am wanting to take Lothar out to a few local shows next spring, just small ones to get him used to being out and about. I am not in it to win, I just want us both to have a good, fulfilling time. I, however, have been out of the arab showing scene for nearly 20 years lol, I dont know where to start in finding out where local shows are and whether there are suitable classes. Any one know of any small local shows that do arab in hand classes? I am near Atherstone in Warwickshire.
cheers

Posted - 04 Aug 2010 : 11:23:11 PM he is 18 months old. Pic doesn't really do him justice. He is a pretty, very showy boy, very affectionate, he is a little darling, so far anyway, only had him just over a week.

Posted - 04 Aug 2010 : 3:14:35 PM We're in the Midlands too.
The North Staffs Spring Show at Rodbaston, Midland Arab Group Spring Show at Solihull RC/Gracelands are normally in April.
Bewdley Bridle Club normally have a Show with Arab classes in June
Midland Arabian Festival at Malvern in June.
There are also smaller Riding Clubs in the Midlands, such as Bromsgrove & District RC, Alvechurch etc.
You might want to join the Midland Regional Group of the AHS.
Posted - 04 Aug 2010 : 3:09:10 PM Yep saw Babs post and that is one I shall hopefully travel too, and I know about Malvern, tho not been for nearly 20 years. One thing that worries me about bigger shows is the talk of the ringside crowds making noise and fuss. I dont want to go to shows to get him used to being out and about and have him stressed and upset, I want him to enjoy it. This is why, to begin with, I am looking for small local shows, even unaffiliated fun shows to start with, just to introduce him gradually to different surroundings. He will be just 2 years old. He is a nice natured calm boy, he shows himself off with out being silly, I want to keep it that way. He has done show practice but has never been to a show.

Posted - 04 Aug 2010 : 2:59:17 PM Hello Gix.
The Malvern show ground wouldnt be too far for you, obviously the Nationals and Midland Festival are there.
And Babs on here has been talking about organising a monthly Arab show in the birmingham area, for purebreds, part breds and anglos. Which would be fun.
