Posted - 19 Jul 2010 : 1:10:26 PM Discussions and Plans are underway with a view to introduce a monthly (April - October 2011) Show to be held near Junc.7 of M6 between Birmingham and Walsall, West Midlands, exclusively for Arabian/Anglo Arabian/Part Bred Arabs ponies and horses
The theme of the show will be based upon versatility and hopefully will encourage more owners to compete in dressage, show jumping and cross country and the competition.....all of which should prove a great fun/schooling day as heights of fences will be at novice level
In Hand classes will also be scheduled for youngstock and senior exhibits
Winning points will be accrued towards the final Championship Show at the end of the Season
This post to `feel the waters` to see if A/Liners would be interested in such a monthly competition???.......maybe an oak will grow!!

Posted - 24 Jul 2010 : 10:19:38 AM Well.....I am really pleased with the initial positive response to my proposed Show
With so many larger shows now cancelling due to lack of entries, I really feel that there is now a need for formulating local Area Arab Shows possibly based on Riding Club format i.e. Monthly Shows (six) culminating in a Championship Show at the end of the Season
All 1st & 2nd placed class winners, would be eligible to enter the Championship Show
Entry fees would be in line with RC fees and entries taken up to day before show.
Have located a showground (local farm) within a mile or two off J7 of M6 Motorway, which would be ideal.
Very sad that the Arab/Trekhener Event has been cancelled due to lack of interest. However, I do feel a performance show exclusively for Arabian/Anglo/Part Bred Arabs will prove more inviting, to try and motivate owners into having a "go" at other than just in-hand and ridden showing... and prove what versatile performance horses our breed is. So, come on all you Arabian/Anglo/Part Bred Arab owners. This show is aimed at Owners who want to have an enjoyable fun day out and qualify for a Championship Show

Rui...is it possible to make this thread a "sticky" ??

Posted - 23 Jul 2010 : 7:11:58 PM Fantastic news, I've been hoping to find something like this since recently moving to Leics, also ditto the comments re sponsorship etc! |

Posted - 23 Jul 2010 : 3:26:00 PM Reading this in conjunction with the Good Old Days thread, it would be brilliant if this show takes off and provides the sort of fun day out we used to enjoy. I can't run or ride any more but might be up for Concours d'Elegance as per Haydock! Best of luck with it, Babs. |

Posted - 20 Jul 2010 : 4:04:30 PM Would love to do dressage against other arabs! May even have started getting back into jumping by then
Only addition I'd make to the schedule is veteran ridden if possible
Are you considering an end of season champs day or points system to encourage regular attendance? |
