Hi Scooby, I've entered one of the Cherif classes - 148cms, chestnut mare - say hello if you see us

Received my number today
scooby Posted - 10 Jun 2009 : 8:15:17 PM
Is anyone doing the cherif classes?
Ziadomira Posted - 06 Jun 2009 : 11:27:05 PM
Cheques have not yet been banked. They have to get to Treasurer and he does that.

Numbers are usually sent to those sending envelopes but due to the M4 closure we are sending them all out with a note re the closure.

Catalogues will be available for collection on the day.

Thanks Nut, I am reassured!

Not received numbers yet and cheque not cashed either...sure we'll get them shortly.

Just wondering if anyone has received their competitor number (or maybe we collect on the day)? I've now noticed my cheque has not yet been cashed, I hope my entry wasn't lost in the mail, will need to check (unless zia can answer on here?)

I've entered the in-hand PBA (senior), amateur ridden PBA, open ridden PBA and the dressage - it's great to have so many classes, assuming they won't clash of course

Hope to see you all there

Caroline

ok thankyou entries are up on last year.. how many were there last year? I know yoyu can't say how many will turn up but entries would be good as 10 entries is a bit of a different show to say 20 entries!!xx

I always find it helpful when shows do this. As you say, it gives at least some idea, and competitors can then take into account that some entries will not come forward. I would welcome it from Wessex, if possible

Any one know what the ridden part bred entries are like?
Scarlet Arabian Posted - 30 May 2009 : 07:32:04 AM
i can imagine it is hard trying to please all.

sounds good for the PBAs classes being well supported.

Hi

We did give details of numbers in the classes once but at one show it rained and virtually no one turned up and by the time one competitor arrived her class was in the ring. Needless to say she was not pleased.

The ring is the one for the HOYS ridden classes and there will be loads of room to steer clear of unwelcome advances from a friendly colt.

We do give a time before which the afternoon classes will not start.

AA/PBA in hand classes are up on last year.

We have a problem at Newbury as there are no stables, so if it is raining we know some will not come. Newbury are not allowed to put stables up as when they applied for planning permission there were a lot of objections and it was refused.

We put on a coloured class a few years ago and the only entries were those who wanted to do the show jumping and went in the in hand as well as the class was there. We have no show jumping this year.

We will look at adding a coloured class next year but our timetable is so tight that we have to find somewhere to fit it in.

This year we have brought back Dressage, added a sports horse class and veterans in hand and ridden. Ridden Crabbet also added. We will look at classes with few entries and see if we should try others in their place.

We have already been given one idea for a new class that we will be including in next year's shows

county shows some times send you a running order and no of entries with our numbers too.!!!

i know if there is going to be say over 20 in a class i probably would think twice about taking in a stallion in a mixed class,or small ring, just not worth the risk for a rosette.

yep
entered a three year old colt, coloured , had to go in to that class as no coloured class at the wessex at all.
