Posted - 04 Jan 2015 : 2:57:28 PM Just to say that yesterday my friend had a surprise foal born to a show jumper she brought in the spring, she has been jumping her all summer, by the panic phone call for help I had yesterday morning, as mare was in a bit of shock as well and was frightened of the foal, but a little sedative for mare and time, all is happy and foal is feeding well.
Made me remember how hard work it is when things don't go to plan.
Foal is a TB type, but it's still exciting!

Posted - 05 Jan 2015 : 5:01:14 PM What a lovely new year present; hope she has the facilities for a foal! I suppose she has no idea who the sire is. Glad all is well and nice you were there to help, Glo. All the exercise in the summer would have kept the mare fit for the birth!

Posted - 04 Jan 2015 : 4:17:22 PM I had had a bit of a lazy few weeks, my husband said he had never seen me jump out of bed so fast, needless to say I was exhausted by the time I got home. I will post some photos in a few days, of the foal Bumble, and of the mare jumping wile in foal!
