Posted - 25 Jun 2010 : 8:58:45 PM Well, after a number of false alarms (pretty much every night since the end of May), Shahi finally decided to do the decent thing and let us get a nights unbroken sleep tonight.
Some time between 2 and 3 am, a beautiful and leggy filly was born, a cross between one of the best Crabbets of all time and a daughter and sister to some of the best known arabians in the world.
Shahi Bint Balaton, and PHA Silvern Risalm, between them have produced a special piece of magic, PSA Safeerah (this translates as Ambassador).
Shahi and Saffee have bonded and Shahi is protecting her like the perfect mother. Saffee has been cantering around the field and then sleeping in the warm afternoon, it is truely wonderful, the farm has come back to life as everybody passes by and stops to watch them from the fence.
It is also a bit special as this is our first own bred baby, (excluding the human variety of course), hence our long and untimely waiting,
Some pictures from this morning are below, others from this afternoon may be posted tomorrow if I have time.
Much thanks and love to Tiffani and Darren for their help and support in this wonderful relationship.

Posted - 02 Jul 2010 : 3:04:47 PM I guess with that flash, if she had been a colt, her nickname would have been Harry Potter, but don't tell the OH

Posted - 02 Jul 2010 : 12:00:48 AM Hi Tina, Here are some more pictures of her, I may have time to edit a short vid of her tomorrow, which is very self indulgent.
As she is our first foal, we are a bit soppy and find every day a new experience, so does she. Today she was nibbling my ears and chewing my hair, (I must make a note to have a shower soon).
It was also the day there was a digger in her paddock and she wanted to inspect the trench it had dug, when the driver was at lunch and it was turned off. I have a picture on my phone of her standing by the digger, you can tell she doesn't spook yet, need to get that gene fixed?
I've done the research and the sums, and she is about 61.25% Crabbet
PS. Don't forget this model may also be available in white.

Posted - 28 Jun 2010 : 10:27:54 PM Hi Liz and Vicky,
Tiffany came today to look at 'Ivan's offspring' and she was as pleased as us. We are all unsure if she will be chestnut or grey as she does not have any grey hairs around her eyes at all, but she does have the dark skin around her eyes and muzzle-like mum and dad-so probably grey-YES!!!! Sabine
