Posted - 21 May 2009 : 9:23:12 PM I have the great pleasure of announcing the birth of our beautiful straight crabbet filly, born today at approximately 11am in the glorious sunshine! Both filly & dam (Wings of Pearl) are both doing well & we have sent word to her Daddy, Indian Banner about her arrival. We were very privileged and witnessed her birth, a very special moment. Wings has now given us 2 beautiful fillies, later on we will have the horrible decision to make on which one to retain!

And, why not?? They are stunning and simply the best, better than all the rest IMO

Posted - 27 May 2009 : 8:53:34 PM Thanks all for your nice comments, I am chuffed to bits with this filly, she has such a character too & really pleased she will (hopefully!) stay orange & chrome as my fave colour!! She is like Heather said, very much like her Daddy, same white socks on the same legs but a slightly thicker blaze!! Will try & take some more pics tommorow! |

Posted - 27 May 2009 : 2:44:28 PM Beautiful, absolutely beautiful, I love the crabbets, but when I wanted to buy crabbet there seemed to be a shortage of 100% crabbet so I bought my English mare that has one line of polish in her, but that was 17 years ago and I have still got her and would not part with her, but your mare and foal is beautiful |

Posted - 26 May 2009 : 10:33:42 PM Well done. 2 more Crabbet fillies to keep the bloodlines going. I do wish I could breed some fillies instead of all these colts. They are desperately needed now to keep the stud going as my mares are all well in their late teens. Have fun with your new baby. |

Posted - 21 May 2009 : 11:29:49 PM Cute! She looks (in my opinion) to be definitely chestnut as the rims of her eyelids look pinkish - which detracts from the size of the eyes. If she was going to go grey I'd say the eye rims would be black.
That's my "rule of thumb" anyway. Caryn

Posted - 21 May 2009 : 9:47:42 PM Thank-you for your comments, we are over the moon with this special little girl! Monique, not sure if she will stay chestnut, time will tell but her full sister is still chestnut. She is a strong little filly, was trotting around at an hour old!!! She has got the cutest face (pic attached). Trying to find a pretty name that will suit her now.
