I have a lovely mare called Epis Summer Sky and I was just wondering what type of arab she is. Her Sire was Al Sood so I know that he was straight egyptian but I don't know what type her dam Summers Place Felicia was! Is there anyone that knows anything about her dam or could help me figure out my mares percentage crabbet etc? Thanks :) |

Her dam is 69.3% and sire 25% Crabbet giving you the total of just over 47%. Her maternal grandparents are 69.25% and 68.35% so unfortunately you just miss out on the 75%. I still had the piece of paper with my original calculation to hand! |

Thank you! Does anyone know what percentage Arab her Dam was? I'm potentially interested in Crabbet Related showing if her Dam is 75% or over :) |

As I am in bed with nothing to do, and I am fascinated by pedigrees, particularly ones with such lovely bloodlines, I can tell you that your mare is just over 47% Crabbet. The Coombe Farm horses (Grey Wood Nymph, Prince of Orange, Holly Blue) trace back to the influential Polish stallion Argos who stood at the Theobalds' Yeld Bank stud which is quite close to me and where I had my first sight of a real live Arabian! Lots of photos on All Breeds too - hope this helps. |

If you look her up on All Breeds Pedigree you can click on each of her ancestors and then the i icon which will give you the Crabbet % for each of them. You should then be able to work out your mare's %. |

Off the top of my head your mare is a quarter Crabbet. She has some lovely horses in her bloodlines; Coombe farm breeding, through Grey Wood Nymph (Woody ) and Prince of Orange , he was a lovely boy , then there is Zircon Nazeer and dear old Donax, beautiful old horses  |
