Posted - 16 Mar 2012 : 11:18:17 AM Hello there....I've owned my first purebred for around 18months....and although I've always loved them, I know nothing about arabian bloodlines...I confess I didn't even know they came in russian and polish flavours
I've been told my boy has good breeding- and I've looked on allbreedpedigree and I see some lovely horses on there....some appear to be polish/russian...others I'm not sure about.
Could some kind knowlegeable person shed a bit of light please?

which shows that your boy has a full sister Aaliah born 2007. Those two are the only two progeny listed for your boy's dam (doesn't mean that there aren't more though, horses only appear on there if people add them in).
Have you tried doing a search on here for various names? There is a wealth of information on here both on the current threads and in the archives.
That's just for starters, and I didn't search the archived posts, there is loads of great information on this website

Where would I find out more? Its all really intersting but I havent got a clue where to look to find about about siblings/half-siblings and his wider family tree.

Posted - 16 Mar 2012 : 1:46:02 PM Well General Gold was 100% Crabbet (and UK bred), Menes was straight Russian and 25% Crabbet, and the sire of successful show and race horses, Shogun was approx 99% Crabbet and was both junior and senior champion at Aachen, White Lightening was 50% Polish (through his dam) and his sire Burkan was 50% Crabbet, Dardir was Polish, 12.5% Crabbet and eported to Sweden, he was successful racing and also European Champion and best in show at Paris in 1973, Aladdinn was exported from Sweden to the USA, his bloodlines are Polish, he was also a champion and a prolific sire, so just for starters there is British, Polish, Russian and American breeding there, and some great names.
