Hello everyone, I am new to this website (first post) so thought I would start by finding out how many other people had offspring by Ansata Qasim.
Last month I bought a grey gelding, OES Ibn Al Qasim and he is fabulous. I had a 3/4 Arabian previously and always promised myself originally a Crabbet bred Arab, after seeing this little horse I totally fell in love. After contacting the Pyramid society I have found out he is a straight-sired Egyptian, not a straight Egyptian due to his dams lineage but fabulous none the less.
Many thanks go to Alethea who I know also uses this forum as she took Kes on for me after he left the stud. As he is such a special horse and Alethea was so highly recommended to me he deserved the best start with someone professional. If you're reading this Alethea I'll be bugging you for showing tips very soon, doing lavant show in July!!

Yvonne, I assume you mean Hafid Jamil? He is not available to SE mares. Hassanain has some lovely stallions here, mostly Hafid Jamil sons. I am not sure if his stallions are available but I will have a word with him if you like. You are not far so I could take you there. I am long overdue a visit and he does let some outside mares visit his stallions. If you want to ring me we can have a chat. I absolutely love Murtajab al Nakeeb . I have some photos of him I could email you.

Unfortunately I am useless with a camera but Fluff was shown quite a lot so there may be something on the internet.
Barbara, we'll be having a HoCoN barbecue in the for supporters and friends of the group so you could come along and see them. My issue now is find decent stallions to put over them. I had the offer to use Ansata Sinan but shipping was an issue and the price was massive. Good straights are few and far between although I do like Al Lahab, trouble is he does not ship and I am nervous of sending them to Germany (plus of course the cost). I also like the stallion co-owned by Dr Nagel/Al Nakeeb but cannot get permission to use him. |

Funny enough, I am just about to redo my will so I will leave you Badr, he is a poppet. Shaheeraah might be sold if I can get any good photos of her; all the nice ones I had have got a pixelation problem so are useless and it does nothing but rain lately (that's my excuse for being a rotten photographer). She may be going abroad, watch this space!!!

Flo-bell, I think that pic of Kes was a lucky one, I'm sure as we turned the next corner his head would be somewhere else!! I think the big round bottom is in keeping with his owner's  and I'm very glad to hear about your new girl, I know we can never replace the ones we have lost but that doesn't mean we can't go on to love another neddy, good luck with your new adventure xx |

Sorry Kes - I have been admiring your pic again ;). He is looking super - and his outline is looking good. Roo was always quite up and in front of you, but he was quie a nervy stress head, so relaxing down into a contact, like your boy is doing was very hard for Roo.
And your boy has a nice big round bottom!! Although Roo was starting to get there, after his poor start, his back end was quite weak, and he was quite angular around his quarters. He was improving with work on the lunge and pole work, but it was his weak part. His neck and shoulders were fabulous, but his bum was a bit rubbish lol ;)
I have loads of pics of Roo with his eyes shut. I think because his eyes were so big and dark on his very white face it was always really noticeable hat he was doing dramatic winks at the camera ;) |

Ah he wasn't all that far on with his flat work, but with the help of a good friend of mine, he did have a very good start to his ridden career, so he only ever learned to go in an outline basically. He was never forced, but just persuaded that going sweetly into an outline was the easiest way to do things ;)
He was a star and I do miss him every day.
I have just landed on my feet and found myself with another beautiful Arab just a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunatly not another Qasim baby, but she has a beautiful temperament, and looks as though she is going to be a super star in a couple of years time :) xx |

Flo-bell I'm really sorry and I can tell you were very fond of him indeed, it's just awful when these things happen.
Thank you for posting your pics of him though, they are lovely :) He looks to have been quite advanced in his training as that's a nice outline. Kes was backed last year just as I got him so very much behind in terms of time with his education but we don't let that bother us, he's a clever little chap. Look at your ridden pic and then compare to mine (this was taken last week), same head and eyes shut!!??

I had a gelding by Ansata Qasim - very sadly he suffered a broken leg in the field last year and had to be PTS :( :(. (cue much heartbreak and upheaval at our house :( )
His dam was JMA moniette, and he would have been 6 next month.
I miss this little horse every day - he had the biggest heart I've ever known in a horse, and after coming to me in a very bad state, was just really starting to look like the little star he was

Hi Alijo, he is gorgeous and thanks for posting the pictures. Your horse does look like Kes, particularly in the face, and Ansata Qasim of course. From what I understand, as I have never met Qasim personally, he is a very kind horse and very flashy. I don't know a huge amount about him but know he stood at stud in the UK a number of years ago before returning to the US. You can speak to the stud where he is at present and they are really nice. Kes has an excellent movement too and the fact that you achieved so much with your boy is really encouraging.

Hi i had an Ansata Qasim gelding last year.
He was a fantastic mover and was an amazing jumper, i used him for in hand, ridden, dressage and jumping |

Hi Kathleen, staying away from pink although my wardrobe does stray that way sometimes!! KP will be upset! Going to start with an in-hand class this Summer and take it from there. I need to go and watch some Arab classes first as although I have been to plenty of showgrounds I can't remember seeing an Arab class recently, I mostly got involved with my friends who were doing M&M which is rather different I suspect.
Barbara, I'm so jealous you got to meet Qasim and that you saw my boy so young. When I started my initial search on Qasim I did get some emails from the stud who has him at present, Judith Forbes, I believe, is still in Qatar (or somewhere near there). Those pics are fab, I really wish I could get hold of some pictures of Kes as a foal or youngster. But I suppose I get to make up for that with the rest of his life, God knows how many I have already!!
Right must dash off, Kes has got the dentist, he'll be really pleased about that!! |

Hi Carole,
I took a mare to Ansata Qasim and was so blown away by him that I sent two more. The original one I sent reabsrbed so £1750 down the drain but the other two had foals, a colt and a filly, both now five. They are straight Egyptian. The filly is "Shaheeraah" which is Arabic for "famous" and the colt is "Badr al Saraah" which is "full moon in the deset" as he was born on the night of a full moon in Suffolk but Badr al Suffolk didn't sound quite right!!!! I saw your boy as a very young foal when I took my mares to the stud.
Judi Forbis does still own Qasim although I think he is leased out, can't remember where in the States he is. Judi used Farres as she particularly wanted that dam line and a colt. She got her colt (Qasim) and was very pleased with the result.
Ibn is pronounced as it reads; ib (as in bib without the first b)and then "en" and as you know means "son of".
I have added a couple of photos of my two as youngsters.

Hi everyone, I feel sure this conversion is going to be moved soon as it's gone a bit off topic, if I knew how to do it I would do it myself to preserve the site's topic correctness.
Thank you for telling me how to pronounce ibn Callisto, I was a little confuddled having never heard it before, only read it. I have heard from various sources that Arabian horses will 'bond' with their owners once they establish trust, I hope that's true because that's a lovely relationship to have with a horse. I had a PB TB mare before Kes and she was 'today I like you, today you need to run away', I had her for 19 years until I lost her to Cushings/laminitis on the 1st March this year, was devasted. Kes is my future now.

I sold my other motorbike last night and got reasonable money for it, now off to the newish Scats in Billinghurst to buy loads of things I 'think' Kes will need, got to have that diamonte v-browband, I'm sure my gelding won't mind if I dress him like Barbie  |

ibn is pronounced ib'n (sort of like E-bin, with the stress on the E), don't know if that is very clear 
As you are already finding out - Arabs are different, and can be quite possessive of their people , the tiny pic is great, but I'm looking forward to a bigger one
My girl is also SE on her sire line - he's G R Amaretto by Classic Shadwan. |
