Posted - 01 Mar 2011 : 7:09:47 PM Just seen this old message post.
Reida is still in retirement and is also now a bit doddery staying in Pontyberem. I last rode her May 2010. She is still a beautiful old lady...
Does any one recall Reida and Val Woodall from the Dancing Arabian Horses of Wales, where I worked in Ferryside and Pembrokeshire.
It was sad to read (belatedly) of 'silent fire' and 'zircon enchanter' passing....

Posted - 04 Mar 2011 : 5:07:42 PM omg. Yes I had a fabulous holiday there in the early 80's. I was there the same weekend that Horse and Pony did an article on the stud so may well have met you then.
I rode Reida, Kaliph ? (grey) and Helawi and a big red one who was my fave beginning with an A - will have to look up his name when I get my albums out. I have got some old polaroid pictures somewhere.
Reida was a stunning little lady. Did you keep in touch with Val after you left there. I assume she is no longer with us as she was an advanced age when we were there.
Great to hear that Reida got a permanent home. Piccies would be nice |

Posted - 01 Mar 2011 : 8:38:30 PM Yes.I remember them, went there once many years ago. The gelding Kefir went to a lady who lives near Tomos and Sherezade was owned by a lady who lived in Llanon not sure if she still lives there now,but both horses have gone some time ago. I think I also know who had Askaire also in Ammanford area,he too died some while ago. Certainly brings back lots of memories-where do the years go? Glad to hear Reida is still well and enjoying her retirement. |
