Hi,

For many years i have been searching the internet for more information on my mares family history.
I have recently joined this forum and hope you can help me.

Her Sire is "Kestral" (Silver Scenario/Tanta)

Also in her pedigree: Tornado, Countess Naborr, Bask, Silwara, Nabor, Banat, Faery Snow, El Azrak, Bandola, Kossak, Susannah..and so on...

I would be very grateful if any of you have info/photos.
Thank you

Hello... Just though I would put a little update on here :)
I'm on the beast that is Freya!! At last, I can say we are moving forward with her education, and my goodness, isn't she clever :)
Long reigning like a complete pro, lunging beautifully [at last] and I'm on her. Lovely long strides in walk and trot - not cantering yet!! She free jumps like a star, and since I've been getting on her, her whole demeanor has altered.
So yes, there is my update :) Very happy with the little miss.
And here is a picture... if it works for me anyway

Ruby and odin did really well loading, as soon as the foal was on ruby followed happily. Theyre both doing brilliant now, ruby has put on quite a bit of weight shes looking alot better and odin is getting big he's nearly as big as his mum. we got a rough measurement of about 10'1 hh and hes only 11 weeks old. We'll get her a worm count from the vets. They've been wormed but im not sure whether it covered redworm as weve gotta be careful cuz shes lactating. Dont want to hurt little man (odin). Will post some images as soon as we can. I hope that all is going well freya is a gorgeous horse we wanted her too but 3 at once was a bit much lol. Hope to hear soon. :)

Wow!! Literally wondered just this minute how well you got on loading Ruby and baby!! Took us close to 5 hours to get Freya on our trailer... Was close to giving up.
That would be so kind of you, Freya's condition was very similar to Ruby's... NOT GOOD. Oh, also probably worth mentioning, Freya had a really heavy redworm burden, sorted now, and already she is looking loads better.
If i hadn't seen Ruby, I would have believed Freya to be full Arab, must be the very gorgeous Shajeel line!!
Take care, and let Ruby know her daughter is doing well ;)
Fell free to pm me with pics, and i'll do the same for you :)
Oh, its so lovely to hear from you, Thanks again!

Hello we have just brought freyas dam ruby the Britsh spotted cross british riding pony . She now has another foal called odin who is by hassan. This makes shahjeel his grand sire as hassan is by shajeel and dhakasha (perky) if you would like some picture of ruby as she gains condition to give you a better idea of how freya will look then please don't hesitate to ask as she looks a lot like ruby but bigger.
We've got a full pedigree for Odin on hassans side and have traced back quite far. It's on wiki horse world pedigrees if you want to have a look as Freya and him have the same pedigree both sides except hassan is his sire not shahjeel not sure what that makes freya to Odin half sister and also auntie llol strange. Anyway just thought I'd let you know if you saw ruby when you collected Freya I'm sure you saw that her condition was awful. You'll be happy to know shes put on quite a bit of condition and both her and her foal are doing well. The foal looks more arab than His dad lol he's a spitting image of shajeel with the bright chestnut only one White sock though, they'd look like twins if he had 4 White socks. Anyway I best stop rambling could talk about them for ages such stunning horses. They've got such gorgeous looking ancestors glad it's came out in the foals.
AnnaMaisy25 Posted - 29 May 2012 : 2:20:29 PM
Oh wow, now he stunning! Cor, i hope Freya ends up with spaces like his, we'll be onto a winner!
Once she has gained some weight and lost her fluff left over from winter, I'm sure she will lok a little more grown up and true to age. Thanks again.
Will post with more pics soon as we grow :)

I have got others somewhere but heres one photo of him, sorry hes clipped out, must have been winter!!
Pashon2001 Posted - 28 May 2012 : 6:03:17 PM
I've put the picture up above. Its difficult to tell her maturity from the photo, I would say they mature pretty normally, one thing I can say is that she has Rahjeels colouring and markings!! I'm off now to find some pictures of him for you.

AnnaMaisy25 Posted - 28 May 2012 : 4:01:32 PM
A got Freya on Friday, and the first thing i noticed about her was her condition. Obvoisly i realise all breeds mature at different rates, but she looks more like a yearling than her nearly 4 years. Is this how all the family have matured or should i be looking into something deeper?
Here is a picture of her from yesterday [if i can work out how to do it!] She has the sweetest nature and although she has so far done nothing, she is very chilled considering this is only her 3rd day with us.
Thanks so much :)

[nope, can't work out how you put pics on here :(]

Pashon2001 Posted - 23 May 2012 : 3:17:27 PM
I used to own him, what would you like to know?
AnnaMaisy25 Posted - 23 May 2012 : 2:59:23 PM
Hi there!

Here I was googling away trying to find a bit of background on a little filly I am buying on Friday, and low and behold, I find this site with all sorts of lovely info!!

My filly is called 'Glenstorm Freya' and her sire is 'Shajeel'... Small world hey?
She isn't full Arab though, her dam is a registered British Spotted Pony by the name of 'Weatheroak Manor Grace' and isn't spotty.

If anyone has anymore background info on 'Rahjeel Eastern Promise' [Shajeels' sire] I would be forever gratefull!!

Thanks so much, I love this site!!

Tolleshunt Shakira with her foal Shajeel

Bint Katarina

Monsanta

Princess Rosanna

Having thought about it I believe Madigan died quite young in an accident, I know one of them did.

Kestrel was a very exuberant boy, plenty of snort and blow, but with the sweetest temperament. I believe he was about 20 when he died, as I said he did have chronic copd. Silver Scenario was also very sweet tempered, he was bred in the US by Howard Kale of Scottsdale in 1973 and came to the UK in 1974. I met SS a few times and he was a very sweet boy, as far as I know he always had good health and died around 30 yrs old, not sure exactly but I know he was quite old. Horsey Island is not far from Frinton/clacton that way, its just off the coast and you can only access it at low tide. Joe Backhouse still lives there and has arabian horses although I believe not as many as once was. I will upload the pics of the children that I have and put them on here later. If you email me the one of Kestrel you have I'll put that up too. jarvastud@hotmail.co.uk . Where do you live?

Wow such a small world thank you soo much for your replies
Would love photos if you do have any. I have one lovely photo of kestral but that is all i have. Im new on here and have no idea how to upload photos tho :(
Do you know much about kestrals personality and how old he was/when he died?
Im only 10 mins from tiptree!
Where is horsey island, so many people have mentioned it and i have no idea where it is?
Does anyone know much about silver scenario? His temperment, health, whereabouts and age of death etc?
Pashon2001 Posted - 15 Feb 2011 : 10:18:24 PM
I knew Kestrel very well, a very pretty and typey stallion that was bred to his half sister Princess Scenario, I had three of their daughters and one son. He was bred by the Backhouses from Horsey Island, essex and bought by Alec Eady, he lived his life in Tolleshunt Knights near Tiptree and died many years ago of a combination of old age and copd. Princess Scenario went to pastures new when the Eadys split up and disbanded their horses.
I will dig out pictures of the ones I had for you. Not sure if I still have a pic of kestrel or not, will have to see, but I do occasionally run in to Alec and he must have one.
You are right Misshana, Bint Farida is the first born daughter of these two.
Following were Tolleshunt Shakira (I own her), Madigan (I think will check that one), bint Katarina (I owned her years ago), Princess Rosanna (I owned her til her unfortunate early death), Monsanta, Tampa, Batan. They werent born in that order.
There were others out of outside mares, Kestrelita, Kacia and Shikira Qamar, there may be other outside ones but brain is old and fragile now lol!

Misshana Posted - 15 Feb 2011 : 8:53:37 PM
I remember Alec Eady well. He had Kestrel and a filly (sister I think Princess Scenario???) Both beautiful chestnuts with nearly white manes/tales. Used to see them at local shows in the early 80's when we lived on Canvey Island and know who'd be winning the class lol.
I believe from memory Kestrel was sire of Barbra Carter Moauts' Bint Farida dam of BNC foal Friskea.
