These are all purebreds from AHS Vols 13-17, which is the latest one I have. Looks like all his offspring were bay!
Shamar was a chestnut mare, foaled 1969, bred by Mr EDR Wetton, by Khaliq out of Salonda by Salih. She died 1987.
Shamani was chestnut, born 1973, bred by Mrs J L Taylor, by Dennybeck Dani out of Shamar by Khaliq (i.e. daughter of above), she died in 1981.
