Posted - 11 Aug 2010 : 10:44:05 AM Any thing you can turn up about this horse - EHEU, He sired a chestnut colt in 1903, was also in the ownership at around that time with Mr D B Montefiore.... any info at all would be welcomed that you have on these two...horse & owner.... folks. Cheers Sue

I've now found reference to Rev.(Mr)D.B.Montefiore having ownership of 2 - TB mares. Spree & Spec and Moallaka an Arab. and now turned this up......so he has associations with below...........
Rev.D B Montefibre. The Radnorshire Polo & Riding Pony Company.
Radnorshire folded around 1905, with many of their mixture of horses getting sold... Great Help thanks folks..hope I'm now on the right track. Cheers Sue

1903 Bath & West & Southern Counties Rev D B Montefiore, Mursley Stud, Winslow, Buckinghamshire, bay colt, Royal Rosebud (sup 1902), bred by Sir H de Trafford, Hill Crest, Market Harborough, s Eheu (219), d Eau de Rose (942) by Rosewater (37).
1906 Journal of the RASE Polo /Riding pony filly, colt or gelding foaled in 1904 1st John Barker MP, The Grange, Bishop's Stortford, for Heir, chestnut gelding bred by the Rev D B Montefiore & Col Henriques, Mursley Polo & Riding Pony Stud, Winslow, Buckinghamshire, s Eheu 219, d Girton Girl 952.
1905 Bath & West & Southern Counties Girton Girl & Heir shown in brood mare class for a 3rd place. Girton Girl described as aged with no breeding listed.
1906 & 1907 Bath & West & Southern Counties Col E N Henriques, Mursley Stud, Winslow, Buckinghamshire, bay filly, born 1903, Columbine, s Eheu (219), d Shakra (451)
in 1906 Shakra is listed as Shakra (Arab GSB)
www.allbreedpedigree.com has the following info Shakra, chestnut, born 1888, GSB #156; GSB 20/P 944 - Desertbred in Arabia. Kuhaylan Ajuz. Sent as a gift to India in 1892, to a Bombay Parsee, in recognition of services to the Bedouin. Purchased through Pallanjee Normusjee in Bombay in 1892 for Colonel E.N. Henriques, and imported to England in 1896 by him.
Made no progress with either Rev Montefiore or Col Henriques.
