Posted - 08 Aug 2010 : 1:28:18 PM Hi Pelle, I was down the Radnor Hill & Bleddfa way a couple or so weeks back,on our way to Royal Welsh Show, now know where some of it was happening.
I have nothing more on this horse, just came across one reference to him...will add anything that turns up, and not too sure if he is a player in our enquires at the mo. Thanks.
On the Cigarette front. Have now traced the man(dead)who had Cigarette and bred Goldflake, he was from a very horsey family and would have had several horses about..so my enquires are continuing in Landeilo. And one of our Arab race trainers, who used to race flapping ponies in Sth.Wales in her youth, so have still got a couple of leads and some work to do. Also got the Welsh Archives on the case & the USA Polo Pony folks (Hurlington). Found several folks bringing in ponies from India and taking some TB's out, all at the turn of the century or around that time.
Thanks again for coming back, all that stuff of your Gran's needs to be catalogued and Archived for the future generations. Will make some interesting reading for us all.
Cheers Sue PS. Just bought another two 1900 stud books.
