Posted - 24 Nov 2010 : 10:40:05 AM Any chance of adding the pic of silver Admiral here? He's my horses paternal grandsire
Really interesting that he was owned by someone with the surname Whalley, that's the surname of my mares breeder though it was a female name which currently escapes me. Would love to find out if her sire (silver Invader) and dam (Sika Saint) are still alive and if she had any siblings, especially on her mothers side |

Posted - 13 Jun 2010 : 10:51:27 AM I have a grandson of Storm out of his daughter Shadena. He was bred at Rhoney's yard in Thornton and has been mine since he was about 18 months old. He is now 16 and when we moved to Spain just over 6 months ago, he came with me and is now enjoying his life in the sunshine. |

Posted - 03 Jun 2010 : 10:34:02 PM Sudden Storm was bought by Bert Pollitt for his daughter and was her fairy tail pony. He moved to Thornton-Cleveleys and lived a very happy life on the same livery yard where I was based. The yard was firsty owned by Joan Woodward (High Tor Arabians) and later by Rhoney Gould (Livingstone) I bred 1 foal by Storm out of my mare Lalita. She is still with me aged 18. I also have a grandgaughter,Stipe who is by my stallion, HT Orashah out of Storm's daughter Shadena.
Storm was a very gentle and handsome stallion I think it must be about 15 years since he died. Both his daughter and his granddaughter have inherited his qualities. |

I just love it when i find an old catalogue, its like taking a trip down memory lane.....
Makes me feel nostalgic, and a little sad in a way, as those were the days when the arab classes were better supported and there were a lot more shows who were happy to put them on...

Posted - 26 May 2010 : 3:24:20 PM Aah thanks June for your answer. I found a very old show catalogue from the Woolton show for the begining of the 80's and some photo's with it of the two boys in question. You are correct that Jimmy Richardson & Alex Whalley owned Silver Admiral. Sudden Storm is down as being owned by Mr & Mrs H. Pollitt. And he was Ch Arab that day as well They also had a yearling colt at the show "Lord Lightning" I guess with very similar bloodlines |

Posted - 26 May 2010 : 2:03:52 PM Sudden Storm, what would you like to know??
Very pretty little grey stallion, Dam was full sister to Velvet Shadow who was the dam of Carmargue....making Storm actually exactly the same blood as Carmargue...
He was shown a lot locally and won quite a lot, very good mover just like all the Lightning Babies....
Cant for the life in me remember the name of the gentleman that bought him off mum and dad, i'll check and add later...
June x P.S. Silver Admiral rings a bell very pretty chesnut stallion, Think Jimmy Richardson and Alexander Whalley had him (Strinesdale stud) i think Bill Gore had him out under saddle at one time.....cant help any further with this.... Must be some of the old school on here who'll remember better... |
