Posted - 08 Apr 2010 : 12:00:04 AM I have got so excited today after finding a thread on here about Moonshine Vision and have been jumping up and down all afternoon waiting to be accepted lol!
My boss will enjoy reading it (printing all 6 pages off lol).
I guess I had better introduce myself!
My name is Amanda Caddick and I work for Dianna May at Hazel Farm, Birmingham, home to the Moonshine stud! I was talking to Di today about Vision and Cornish Venture after looking at her rosettes and old photographs in the Tack Shop. I never realised in all the years I have known Di and her husband how successful her horses have been (I know, I must be on another planet lol!).
At the stud we still have Moonshine Miriam, who was Moonshine Romany Luck's dam and we have Lucky (Moonshine Miriam) too. Lucky gave birth to a beautiful filly called Angel (Moonshine Angelica) on Saturday evening. Angel is such a pretty little thing and definately a Moonshine mare, she has all the classic looks of Di's other great mares! We also have another 2 year odl who, for some reason I can't remember her name lol!
Someone mentioned Roundhills Maysong, I am asking Di tomorrow which one that is but I believe it is her mare Chloe who she shows ridden now.
This is Lucky (Moonshine Romany Luck), not a great photo sorry I will have to find some better ones
and Miriam, who is now 29 and retired
And finally Chloe, who I believe is Roundhills Maysong
I love my job and working for Di and am really proud of where I work xx |

Posted - 25 Jul 2016 : 11:07:40 AM Hi everyone! I am desperate to find out more about my mare Round hills maysong! So interesting reading this on here as I know she was owned by a woman in Solihull for some years so that could be the 'Hazel Farm Livery Yard and Moonshine Stud' she was at as she had two foals that I am trying to track down? If anyone has any information on her foals, brothers or sisters I would love to know where they are! She has just turned 12 and currently lives with me in Staffordshire, she's such a spirited mare but I love her to bits! Here are some pictures of what she looks like now.... thanks :)

Posted - 25 Apr 2010 : 08:33:19 AM Hi I just googled the moonshine stud in search for a Cremello hubby for my Mare, and found this. One of the colts that was sold to Val Trip in Cornwall was 'Moonshine Cameo' I own one of his only 2 son's 'lorrivale Electrum' He is a lovely boy with lovely conformation and a willing fun temprement. We looked to buy Cameo when he was for sale but didnt have the space at the time to keep a stallion, such a shame as we would have loved him now. Would love to know where Moonshien Cameo ended up, think he is still down here as a riding horse. we have a few Lorrivale horses all of excellent breeding, just wish Val had bred the Palominos she had bought Cameo to do, We also bought a mare called Caramac Color who is the mare i am intending on breeding she was going to be one of a few chesnut breeding stock and is out of Blue Leya. Sorry gone of on a tangent jsut got exctied!!!

Posted - 08 Apr 2010 : 11:08:08 PM Hi Debs (and thanks Sue x)
I think Di may have some in the tack shop so will ask her if I can scan them for you. I think Obsession is about 3 or 4 now as the two year old we have is a filly and I vaguely remember seeing him when he was younger. I will have to ask her and see what happened to him, I know she would have wanted him to continue the line.
I have known Di for about as long as they have lived at the farm but only actually worked at the yard a few months. They are such lovely people and the horses have me awe struck! |

Posted - 08 Apr 2010 : 9:47:51 PM Hi Mandi I think I have posted a lot on this subject. Moonshine Vision has produced literally hundreds of champion palominos if you go on Allbreeds website.
I have got his grand daughter Springtimer Fabulous who has come second to Diana many times! Once was to Roundhills Maysong who I believe was a filly by Moonshine Vision out of Shepley Tiara. The reason I remember this is because she was a full sister to my girls mum Roundhills Autumn Glory.
What happened to Moonshine Obsession who I think would be a 2 year old colt out of Lucky? I remember seeing him for sale and hoped that he would go to a good breeding home because he seemed like a "mini me" of Moonshine Vision.
I hope to see Diana (and you if you go to the shows) at the nationals this year.
Welcome to AL. People have been very welcoming to us palomino people on here
If you can find out if Diana has some pictures of Moonshine Vision as a younger horse and of Cornish Venture we would be very grateful. Debs |

Posted - 08 Apr 2010 : 9:11:45 PM Thanks, I never knew that! I found out that I was wrong about Chloe and Roundshill Maysong, sorry, you probably know he's a stallion lol! Apparently he is in Devon now too. I have found learning about the mares I look after really interesting and copied the messages about Moonshine Vision to show Di at work this morning, her eyes lit up to see some of the photos. |

Posted - 08 Apr 2010 : 10:33:34 AM I remember one of Lucky`s daughters "Midoak Foxy Lady" being in the same yearling class as my filly Fantasy at the palomino champs many years ago ! I think Diane also bred 2 or 3 Cremello foals from Pioneerstud Golden Chieftain X Moonshine Romany Luck & one of the colts was sold to Val Tripp down in Cornwall because she was going to breed palomino`s , he was then gelded & sold as a riding horse ! |
