Posted - 12 Feb 2011 : 10:48:20 PM Just flicking through the pages and came across this old thread about Kapron. We have a son Kismet who is himself now 27years old also a granddaughter Atmosfera out of Kapraslina who is 22. We imported both from Countess Lewenhaupt in Sweden many years ago now. |

Posted - 20 Oct 2009 : 6:38:08 PM Kapron was imported by The Grange Arabian Stud, which I managed for many years. He came to us from The Kossack Stud in Holland but of course he was bred at Tersk in Russia. He was royally bred being by Aswan and out of the great Salon mare Karolina. We had leased him for two seasons and he sired some lovely foals while in the UK. Kazian was out of my old girl Zaian (by Al Malik) and he won several championships in the UK. Kazian's full brother in blood Kapronaz (ex Zarzura) was exported to the renowned Vidiko Stud in South Africa. Kapronaz sired some gorgeous offspring for Koos Voorendyk, some of which we were able to see last year. Kapron was refined and elegant, his head was much prettier than in an earlier photo and he was quite small but had HUGE tail carriage and presence. Hope this trip down memory lane is helpful. |

Posted - 19 Oct 2009 : 10:35:24 PM Thanks everyone! Very much appreciated.
Lila, I worked with and later cared for a son of Kapron, whom I sadly lost 19 months ago at the age of almost 21. I knew him for nearly 17 years, and he was one of the rare bays Kapron produced. I'll try to get a pic of him on here. |

Posted - 19 Oct 2009 : 12:57:04 PM When Kapron stood in Holland I used to help out with him at the stallion licensing show. He was such a gorgeous boy. I once owned a mare by him out of an old English dam, a gorgeous girl as well.
