Posted - 25 Aug 2009 : 2:51:06 PM Hi,
I've been looking up my mares pedigree on all breed pedigree and wondered if anybody knows how accurate it is? My mare's name is Zifa and she is on there, her pedigree on there is correct and ties in with the papers I have for her and her registration certificate with the Arab Horse society but the website shows that her sire would have only been 1 years old and that her dam also had another foal the same year! I wonder if anybody can shed any light on this? |

Posted - 30 Aug 2009 : 09:08:20 AM Mirage, the information you have taken is from the American Database. The numbers after AHS do not mean anything over here - it is just the American number given for their databse reference. So have taken the liberty of giving the AHSB Volume numbers for you in case Flosskins wants to research further. What a good brood mare. Please BEWARE Allbreeds - pedigrees very suspect. If you want an official pedigree, do ring the AHS and they will send you one.

Posted - 28 Aug 2009 : 2:05:56 PM Thank you very much for the information, I have just one more question! Is there any way I can find out if Zifa had any foals? I was told by the woman who sold her that she has had 2 but I don't know how to find out. I assume they were purebred but I don't know. |

Posted - 27 Aug 2009 : 6:26:23 PM I will have a look in my old news. The Lady Naxifa is deceased. Most of Zifa's siblings seem to have been bred by Mrs Lowe on her sire's side. The dam's side seem to vary. Sunlea Silver Shayne was bred by Angela Parker who lives quite close to me. When I have time I will try and see if she has any photos of him.
I live in Woking Surrey. |

Posted - 27 Aug 2009 : 12:01:57 PM Melynda - thank you for that, I can see now I was just looking at it when her birthdate had been put on incorrectly, would have made her very old!
Tamila - They are lovely! I live in Bedfordshire, whereabouts are you?
Does anybody know where I could find pictures of Zifa's dam, sire and siblings? |

Posted - 27 Aug 2009 : 06:34:43 AM All three in my profile are related to her. They are 'grandchildren' and 'great- grandchildren' of The Lady Katerine (Mikeno x The Lady Idar). The middle one is of Ramak Gold as a 2 year old. The first one is Tamila and Ramak and the third one is Rimarli.
Felicity, Where do you live? |

Posted - 26 Aug 2009 : 5:22:54 PM All I can think is somebody has put incorrect information on the website, is that possible? Anyone can put information on to Allbreed and anyone can change it. It's not a site to be trusted for accurate records but fine for trying to find certain horses as long as you then verify information on it with stud records etc. Just looked on your horse's webpage and someone has already changed her birth year to 1991 (from 1981) as written down by mirage earlier in this reply. If you read her reply it lists all the correct offspring and their numbers with the AHSB along with your Zifa at the top. |

Posted - 26 Aug 2009 : 3:57:59 PM Hi,
Thank you for that, I'm glad to hear that as I think she is beautiful! Do you have any pictures of your horses related to her.
Also do you have any theories on why the allbreedpedigree website seems incorrect, with her sire only being a year older than her and her dam having another foal the same year? I can't understand it as I very much doubt her papers are fake. All I can think is somebody has put incorrect information on the website, is that possible? |

Posted - 26 Aug 2009 : 3:17:51 PM I was nearly late for work this morning by going on to datasource to research The Lady Naxifa and found that she is a relative of my horses. Rimmy (deceased) and Tamila which means Ramak Gold are descendants of The Lady Idar and The Lady Heloise. Your horse is so beatifully bred. |
