Posted - 19 Oct 2008 : 11:39:46 AM Hi, I have recently purchased a palomino colt who is 84% arab. I know the breeding on his sire's side (Prince Iman) but I'm interested to find out more on his dams side. I'd love to know what the other 16% of him is! His dam is cremello, Bordesley Silver Moonshine. She's by Pioneerstud Golden Chieftain (Golden Lovelace/Garah) out of Longmore Candice (Quadeha/Mainstone Snowbird). Any info would be greatly appreciated

Posted - 04 Jul 2009 : 11:57:13 AM No sorry, I'm intested in Maidstone snowbird not maidstone snowburn, Who is Maidstone Snowburn? if you look on all breeds database there is no information just an empty trail, Carol banks had snowie for a couple of years but we had bought her back before she had candice in 1987, it seems a strange coincidence that she owned another mare later called Maidstone Snowburn (the snowbird name came from my Mom not the Maidstone stud) I'm wondering whether a spelling error has been made somewhere along the line. Thanks for the reply though. Clair |

Posted - 03 Jul 2009 : 11:33:03 PM Hi Clair I know that Mainstone Snowburn had a gelding in 1991 by Quadeha caled Fayrelands Snowprince. I saw him once at a show and have come across his name in Palomino magazines (hence he is listed on allbreedpedigree.com).
Hope this helps. I have Fayrelands Hawaiian Dawn who is by Quadeha so I am a big fan of Fayrelands horses. Debs |

Posted - 02 Jul 2009 : 7:04:48 PM Hi, I know this is an old topic however I feel I must reply with some information that I know. The Dam was Mainstone snowbird not snowburn, she was briefly owned by Carol Banks, but my mom had purchased her back when she was in foal with Longmore Candice. However whilst she was with Carol Banks she produced 2 colts which we have no information on, I beleive the 2nd ones sire was Quadeha but the first was I beleive from a different sire. If anyone knows anything about these colts I'd love to her from them.

Hi Amma Congratulations on your new arrival. The Bordesley Stud is still breeding so I am sure they will have some photos and information for you about Bordesley Silver Moonshine.
I have got pictures of Pioneerstud Golden Chieftain, Golden Lovelace and Quadeha if you are interested. I think Mainstone Snowbird is actually Mainstone Snowburn who was the dam of Fayrelands Snowprince (also by Quadeha). If that is the case it is likely that she was owned by Carol Banks at the Fayrelands Stud where my horse was bred.
If you pm me I can sort out the phone numbers for you so that you can contact the breeders.
These horses are from a long line of champion British palominos so are likely to be a mixture of native pony blood (Welsh and New Forest usually predominate). The Fayrelands stud bred bigger palominos though using American Saddlebred and Arab crosses so you might find a bit of Saddlebred in there as well.
Let us know how you get on and can you post some pictures of your colt. All the best Debs

Posted - 25 Nov 2008 : 5:53:50 PM It was the filly with two white stockings, both on the same side. It will be interesting to see them both make their debuts at around the same time! At the moment my other pally is often the only one I see at rides, the downside of this is he is always remembered if he blots his copybook, unlike my grey Arab! |

Posted - 25 Nov 2008 : 09:32:56 AM Congratulations Stagborough, I'm guessing it was the tall filly with 2 stockings - she was lovely! Kharif has been bought with the intention of endurance too, our two should make their debut about the same time |

Posted - 24 Nov 2008 : 6:34:09 PM I have just bought the remaining filly! She is joining my other pally and Arab, both currently doing endurance, and is a replacement for my 31 year old pally who I lost last week. She did very well at the National Foal Show yesterday and Paul and Sandra still have a yearling colt for sale. |

Posted - 19 Nov 2008 : 08:50:38 AM I think I got the big bold colt! he was the friendliest and very inquisitive The other colt was finer and taller with a blaze and high whites too. I remember one filly was sold (no white) and there was another lovely one who looked like she was going to be a big girl.I had to visit twice to make up my mind. I'm over the moon with my choice though, I seem to be spending a lot of time in the field just staring at him .... |

Posted - 19 Nov 2008 : 08:05:34 AM Sarahlock1 - LOL Good job you remembered her name on the phone. I never saw their ads, I live in Redditch and Paul and Sandra are good friends. I went to see the foals not long after they were born, as i was going to use their stallion. What a choice!!!! I loved all of them but there was a larger colt who seemed to make friends with me, while the others were quite foaly and skittish he was quite bold. But what a tough choice!! Somebody i know through a friend has had one of the fillies although im not sure which one. |

Posted - 17 Nov 2008 : 07:40:26 AM Hi Guys,
Just wondering do mean Sandra Norris? Are they based in the West Midlands? If they are they are friend of mine and i went to have a look at their four palomino foals and they were all gorgeous (Paul and Sandra always breed lovely foals). There was a slightly larger than the rest colt, which i almost bought but this time my head ruled my heart (which is strange for me lol) |
