Wanted to open this thread both to introduce my boy and also to call for help tracing his origins.
I recently acquired him from the RSPCA and he is a 3yr old Arab or part-bred Arab. I really have no way of knowing. I was told by the RSPCA he was seized as a yearling from a stud that fell into neglect, in a case that involved approx. 40 horses. As he turned 3 fairly late last year this would have been anytime from later in 2011 to early 2012. He was both microchipped and passported by the RSPCA so unfortunately that won't lead anywhere. The Windscott in his name is the name of the yard who fostered him for the RSPCA prior to me adopting him from Equifest last year.
Luckily I know a lady who works for the RSPCA who is also trying to help me but any info would be fantastic. Not that I have any serious hope. Some of you might have already seen my post on the Arab Horses UK FB group if you're members on there!
Here are some pictures of him including one of him as a yearling (I'd like to mention that this was taken when he was seized). I need to get some new ones when I'm actually at the yard in daylight hours as he keeps looking better and better in terms of condition!
Any input as to whether he is pure or part-bred (and if part what you think he might be crossed with) and what type of Arabian breeding he may have would be very welcome :).

Thank goodness your dear little horse was rescued from there and now has a home with you.

Posted - 13 Jan 2015 : 1:10:51 PM Have just found out today that he did indeed come from Windscott Farm in Devon (Diana Curtis case) despite previously being told that the Windscott in his name was unrelated! Think I can pretty much give up all hope of tracing his breeding as I don't think his breeder ever was reputable. This is unless anyone has any info at all on any horses that were bred to Windscott mares/any info at all connected to the Windscott horses.
Think he's going to remain a mystery horse but as long as he's happy and healthy that's fine with me.
One day I will buy myself a lovely registered Arab mare though - I always get suckered into rehoming rescues!
