Posted - 19 Jan 2011 : 11:23:10 AM Hi, Just a thought, Change the title of your first post on here to Include his name, will be easier to find the post in the future then. I think the part breds are trotted up more like show ponies, than Arabs. Sue |

Posted - 12 Jan 2011 : 6:28:15 PM thanks for that sue, i live here on the south coast in bognor regis and was thinking a few local shows and also going to have him gelded prob end of march b4 the flies start.. and my 7 yr old comes into season, poor little soul is full of scars on his legs not sure what happened but most seem to be dissapearing with the help of neem oil... couldnt believe it at weekend thought i would try him with the trailer,, he followed me straight in no hesitation.. my son said he would as he is my little shadow.. he is now starting to get a personality and having fun in the field,, think he was too weak b4 coz of the worm burden,,,he also is following me into trot on the leadrein, which is really something as ive only had him 6 weeks and was never handled b4 i had him...
im hoping to do my natural horsemanship qualification this summer as ive trained my 7 yr old arab cross this way and have used a little on indie which is working wonders.. and caught both the babies and put headcollar on using the retreat and approach way,,,
will post any pics when we have all the gear and he has gained a little more weight and hopfully scars healed... thanks again deb |

Posted - 12 Jan 2011 : 12:08:01 PM When you visit take some pics of the mare Fariana for you in the future and get info on her breeding. Showing you just have to be tidy White shirt (waistcoat) and Black trousers and make sure you've got good running shoes (most of the experts where pumps and can run). Practice makes perfect, so get a good trot up and stand him up at home walk him into a stand and take a step back away from him, so he stands on his own, on all four legs at the end of the lead,Part bred showing is a bit more relaxed than Arab showing and you may want to plait him up, and get him out to a few outings so he's not shocked by everything. I don't know where you are in the country but most of the local Arab groups will have early indoor shows too and usually for the part breds too. The Midlands June show is always at Malvern a lovely venue and then in July/Aug the nationals are there too(members only I think). Rodbaston has an early show indoors, but don't travel him too far, you want him looking his best.Lots of the local shows might have Part bred classes, and measure him now and in a couple of months time, you'll be able to estimate his finished size very soon. Take some pics of him in his best gear. Good Luck, keep us posted. I think his mane is lovely too.( I sing the song to remember what he's called. and get rid of that bath. don't want any marks on him. Cheers Sue |

Posted - 06 Jan 2011 : 12:03:13 PM You need to be able to confirm the breeding for Fariana 1991. Is your lad registed with the part bred Arab ????, how much Arab does he have????, ( Has anyone got a service cert.....this might be helpful too.) It looks as if Fariana has 50% Arab.. this could mean your lad is eligable Part Bred Arab Register and it might be worth checking to see if he's already been notified with AHS...they will be able to help...( I'm not up to date with the PBAR regs..so you'll need to check, but you will want a Service Cert., or something to confirm...Spose I should have asked..What sort of Passport have you got..is it PBA or other...??????
So get after anything you can on that for starters, if the previous owner/breeder has the info, get it now before any more times goes by...Find out if the mare was registered anywhere when you contact that previous owner and get any years of birth and owners names to help in the search. Was there a catalogue for the sale and did you get one...The Auctioneer might help, although he is not obliged too.Who issued your passport, I wonder if they have any more info or contacts for you..similar with them..might not help..
The girls on here have many of the stud books and if Fariana 1991, was registered as Part bred Arab, we should be able to turn her up.
So do you know who bred your new boy????, was it the Sameon Stud???, as I see they have several Part Bred Mares, although they are breeding Palomimo's and doing well with them. I found Sameson Indian Shadow in the results for Malvern (National Midlands) 24th.June 2006,as a yearling, entered under:( I might have the catalogue, will look). J.Omar Owner. 2006: 2nd. Malvern National Midlands. This also throws abit of a light for a pic of this horse as usually Sweet takes the photo's there and they may have a pic on file of Indian Shadow.(if there isnt one any where else.
NISEYRA-1935 (Arabian) was a very good mare and bred several good Arabians you can look at her progeny on the all breeds site under her name(go to the left hand drop down and click on progeny. these included Blue Domino (also a chestnut with white legs) and Champurrado ( sired by Irex) both these where good stallions and both Chestnuts with white legs, and there are pic's of both these on the all breeds site. and if you go to the left hand drop down to photos you will see pics of everyhing in the pedigree so far.Lets hope she prooves to be in the breeding.. and lets hope we can get a bit more info on FARIANA 1991 and update this section of the pedigree for you.
If you post for more info. a new post on here headed 'FARIANA 1991 Mare'. Info wanted....you might have someone come back.... Cheers Sue http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/isnthelovely

Posted - 05 Jan 2011 : 12:45:52 AM Lovely to see your photo's, He looks lovely and quite tall already. Thank You for posting them. Niseyra 1935 was the dam of Blue Domino, a chestnut with white legs - http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/blue+domino
Bronzy 1950 was the last foal of Niseyra - who died in November 1950. I'm not sure that the right info is on the allbreeds, as Bronzy was born in 1950, Crystal Duke was born in 1985, so this would mean that in 1987, the earliest date Crystal Duke could cover mares, she would have been 35 and 36 to foal, poss a bit old to produce a foal. http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/isnthelovely Can anyone check out the GSB or Datasourc... please. ( I have GSB Vol.31 & 32).
Please check out FARIANA and tell us what year she was born and any other info about her....please. If this line is correct, your horse could be related to FRANZARA, Lesley Dunn's top class 100 mile endurance horse. Lots to be found and read on this bay Arab mare anf that family, with pics too. Try google.
Bronzy had a full Anglo sister SABBAH 1949, by the same Thoroughbred horse Suzerain 1933,sire: Son in Law, who looks tall enough. http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/son-in-law.
His sire a Palomino, was 2nd & Res.Champion at National Midlands Malvern 24th June 2006, in pure & part bred palomino 1 -3year.?
All the Best, and see if you can get your lot to have a whip around for a new water drinker.( heard of a few nasty incidents with the old white baths). Cheers Sue.
PS. Sara Wilkinson of the Sameon Stud in Hampshire, posts on here. maybe you could leave her a message about the mare Fariana and check out if the spelling is correct and how she is bred...she may be able to help you. |

Posted - 31 Dec 2010 : 1:30:07 PM thanks for all the info will try to work out how to put up some pics of him... it also turns out he has the same lineage as my other arab mare, sheree3 who is now 29..( general grant) , how bizarre is that .. she is a wonderful old lady who would have excelled at endurance, but i only got her when she was 18 from my nan who bred her.. she still has only one pace and thats as fast as possible.. |

Posted - 31 Dec 2010 : 09:12:27 AM Hey - well done!!! How fab is that! I'm thrilled for you - and him! I've just checked his pedigree and see that you have bought yourself a little star - lovely Crabbet and Old English lines. Marechal was the fabulous Ryazan's sire. Both sadly pts this year at good ages. Ryazan was my horse of a lifetime for the last eleven years and a very fine stocky bright bay ex stallion. he had loads of "character" aka attitude! Good luck with your new chap - please post pics on the AL discussion forum so we can all have a drool - I'm sure you are very computer literate. If by any chance you are not - like me - then Rui (admin) is a great and relaible help! |

Posted - 30 Dec 2010 : 8:25:22 PM How wonderful, Congratulations on your purchase of Indie and so pleased he came home with you for a new life. He certainly has an interesting pedigree, Palomino, Golden Trail, Mrs Mundy's Sundance & Palais De Dance. King Cotton Gold + plenty of Crabbet,Mareschal and the dam of Indian Starlight. and Thoroughbred, Son in Law, leading British sire 1922 & 1930. Some pics are available om all breeds..
Next spring check his height, as a yearling the size's used to be worked out in the 'yearling class's' as: 12.3h to make 13.2h. 13.3h to make 14.2h 14.3h to make 15.2h. Just might give you some help/ idea of his finished height. You need also to remember that if he has had a poor start and not fed too well as a foal to now, this might hold his growth up a bit..but dont panic he'll soon catch up and try not to over feed him too much too soon.
A Pic would be wonderful, you've made my day, what a lovely jesture. Hope you'll be very happy together. Cheers & Good Luck. Sue |
