Posted - 28 Oct 2009 : 2:43:18 PM Hi all, I'm posting on behalf of a friend who recently lost her best friend Rainy, as she would very much like to see if she can find out anything about her breeding. She was bought from a dealer many years ago without any papers, she was a 14.3hh liver chestnut mare with a small star, no other markings & her name given was either April Showers or Rainy Days. The dealer told my friend that she had been used as a side saddle pony & competed at county level. She was very well schooled but very sharp!! She may have been a partbred Arab, definitely show pony type. When she was put to sleep this year, my friend believed her to be 24, however the vet confirmed she was more like late 20's, early 30's. Does anyone know of this mare, remember her, find her in any old registers, or have any ideas where I could try & find out about her breeding? I know it's a long shot but you never know someone may remember her! |

Posted - 28 Oct 2009 : 2:57:58 PM I just spoke to the AHS & they do have a registered chestnut pba who could be a possibility called "April Showers Fix" by Corve Golden Showers (palomino) x Kelly (unregistered mare) born 1984, who is still registered under the breeder, however due to data protection, they can't tell me who they are! Does anyone know this mare / breeder? |
