Posted - 20 Jul 2009 : 7:55:13 PM Hi, just found this fab website. I have owned my arab Salamir for 15 years and have just started to trace his history, I bought him from a stud in Cowden, West Sussex, his previous owner is not around and i cant seem to get much info, this seems a good place to start. Salamir was born in 1984, he's a grey 14.2hh. His sire was Salar and dam Silver Moth. With Rayyan, Blue Domino, Wieki Szlem and Rissalix featuring in his bloodline.
Can anyone help, I'm led to beleive he sired a foal called Andales Kalila, how can i check?
Anything would be appreciated |

Send me your e.mail and I will contact my friend in Scotland who should be able to give you lots of info on the female side. I will try and look out some photos of Shades of Silver and Mirella.

why didn't you get papers with your chap? Looked at your video - he's a lovely lad, so pleased you are enjoying him.
PS I've updated his pedigree on allbreeds, so if you go to http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/salamir and click on the heading reports on LH side, then click on photos on drop down menue - hopefully lots of pics of his ancestors should come up. |

Posted - 23 Jul 2009 : 5:16:42 PM No I dont have any papers, how can I find out more, really want to get as much as I can, I'm preparing a special book on him for my mum for xmas as she's not been well and she gave up everything so i could have him and now he's her whole life too.
A clue of where to look, I don't mind doing the research.
Thanks

Posted - 23 Jul 2009 : 12:39:40 PM Nickynoo do you have his registration papers and if so are you sure his sire is Salar - its just I remember his dam being in Scotland methinks - I know Shades of Silver and Mirella were owned by a friend of mine.
OK mystery solved your boy Salamir is by a different Salar by Sahar x Dream Too and was bred by Mrs J & Heather Caithness (who owned Sahar).
Silver Moth was bred by Mrs S.M. Paton in Scotland who owned Shades of Silver and Mirella.
Hope this helps. |

Posted - 20 Jul 2009 : 9:56:06 PM Can't help with that I'm afraid, but have googled his dam Silver Moth, and it finds a link to Seren Arabians. Not sure, but someone from there may post on here?? Maybe they could point you in the right direction.
The helpful folks on here have a wealth of info

If you use the reports button on the top left, drop down to progeny and it tells you who his offspring were
Forgot to add - he has a lot of the same relatives as my mare, on his dams side. |
