I am trying to find the mare Velvet Echo (Su Echo x Rashid Haze) born 1999. She had a foal in 2004 by Aazari called Aazzam and he was bred by Mrs G McCormick.
Does anybody know where Velvet Echo or Aazzam are? I have googled both and found Velvet Echo listed on an Endurance site, but no details of the breeding so I dont know if its the same one, and also no owner/rider details are listed either.
I am looking for Velvet Echo as I own two of her sisters who I adore and idolise so am very interested to find Velvet! Many moons ago somebody here posted about her - saying that a friend had recently aquired her and wanted to know about her breeding etc. I replied, but no further posts were added and she no longer comes on AL.
Any info would be gratefully received.

Hi i owned Velvet Echo from when she was rising 3 until 6/7 . I bred 1 foal from her ,Aazaam , unfortunately she rejected him in spectacular style and i had to hand rear him for a time until a foster mare was found . I had to make the hard decision to sell her , to what i thought was her forever home .Sadly this was not the case and i lost touch with her for a while . Eventually , i managed to find her again with Lesley-Ann Parker , with whom she has the best home i could ever have wished for and is very successful in endurance . I also owned Rashid Haze ,her father until his heartbreaking death in 2011 from a ruptured esophagus caused by an incompetent vet wrongly passing a tube to clear a choke .My friend now owns Aazaam , she used to live up the road from me but is now in devon , he is completely adored and has a home for life .If you wish i can ask if you can contact her . I just saw that Lesley Ann Parker riding Velvet Echo has been selected to represent GBR in endurance at the World Equestrian Games. |

I know Lesley Ann who owns Velvet Echo in fact we rode together last year in Belgium where we travelled with EGB Squads. I'm sure she will get in touch if you send her a message via fb.

PS I found this Azzaamm on the EGB database, but doesn't look like he has any competitive ride results yet (don't know if it is the one you are referring to either, as slightly different spelling & no breeding given)

Hi Kate,
Velvet Echo is competing with Endurance GB, and very successfully. She has certainly achieved her FEI 2* status and I'm pretty sure she completed her first 3* 160km ride recently.
I'm afraid I can't help with amy news of Aazzam though.
