Posted - 06 Jul 2011 : 2:13:38 PM hi I have sold my 4x4 and in the iterim period I am thinking of using my trusty 2.0 vectra (new one) to tow locally whilst I save for a lorry for next yr does anyone tow with anything other than a 4x4 on here at all? i would only be going locally ( A -ROADS) as not sure I would feel confident on long journeys..any thoughts experiences on this? thanks sarah |

Posted - 20 Jul 2011 : 1:31:27 PM brilliant well I am booked in with a specialist to get this done so they can check all the specification - would have it done at the end of the season though lol...still roll on winter dressage! |

Posted - 07 Jul 2011 : 5:10:14 PM I have towed many hundreds of miles with a selection of 2 litre petrol Saabs since 1990. Before the towing regs governing ratio of weight of towing vehicle and trailer changed I towed 2 horses as this was within the capacity of the Saab. You would need to check the specified towing capacity of your car but as long as you are within this limit you should have no problems. |

Posted - 07 Jul 2011 : 08:18:56 AM hi guys thanks for the info so far, yes I am sure it could pull no problems but like you say dont want to be stopped for being illegal...will check out the DVLA site perhaps, thanks! |

Posted - 06 Jul 2011 : 5:13:58 PM It really depends on the weight you are towing and if it is within your towing capacity, it's one thing feeling it is okay but if you are stopped and checked you need to make sure you are legal. |

Posted - 06 Jul 2011 : 3:10:11 PM I have a 2.2 Vectra (diesel) and it happily pulls my trailer if for any reason the 4x4 is off the road.... we went from Derby to Aldridge (West Midlands) with it a few weeks back without problems . |
