Posted - 15 Apr 2011 : 1:55:25 PM I moved my mare onto good grazing last weekend, she is a good doer anyway, but today I noticed her back legs were filled from the hock to fetlock and had plenty of heat in them. I put her on the lunge for 10 minutes ( just a gentle trot) then hosed them both down for 15 minutes. She isn't due till mid June, but I wondered if this could be due to her weight or could it be the dreaded mudfever about to surface. The swelling is less than it was before but still has heat in both legs and I am going to hose again shortly. Has anyone any experience of this with an in foal mare. thanks Luinda |
