Called vet who gave her, bute, buscopan and antibiotics. Her heart rate was 70 and her temperature was low. She startex to eat and pic up after about an hour. She also seemed to have dropped a lot of weight during the day. It seems more than just being tucked up.
This morning she looks happier and is nibbling haylage and ate a peppermint. She is now warm and is drinking. There doesn't seem to be any evidence of any more soft dungs.
Vet has suggested that it may be bowel cancer. She is 27 and up until now looked really good. Has anyone experience of this type of cancer?

Posted - 27 Feb 2011 : 11:11:39 AM My vet has mentioned this could be the cause of my old shetlands problems (diahorreah and not really thriving) She has had a blood test showing she is not absorbing protein very well and having a second blood test this week. My vet actually told me to stop the low dose of bute she was on for athritis as could be an irritant. Hope Milly continues to improve.
