We are spoilt for choice here for Bridges with Brunel's Clifton Suspension Bridge and also the modern second Severn Crossing. In all its years since we watched The Severn bridge being built, the tall pillars and the wires being spanned, to the road being lifted in place it has become an unforgettable structure for the area. Last night I looked out of my bedroom window as I always do before I retire and saw her as I have never seen her before. It was her 50th birthday and they had decorated the graceful supports with blue lights, and red lights on the pillars. I hope it will not be just for one day. It looked so beautiful.
