Posted - 01 May 2016 : 8:21:54 PM Has anyone noticed that you now seem to get areas of towns or cities where all the car showrooms seems to collect. We have BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Mini, Nissan, Ford, Vauxhall, Toyota all in a two to three mile journey. Now we have another one opening up and to tell the truth I would go there just to see the four makes they will be selling:- Rolls Royce, Bentley, Lamborghini and Maclaren. Oooh!! |

Posted - 04 May 2016 : 3:37:34 PM Sorry when I posted the first entry I forgot the Porsche and Honda showrooms and the Smart one that is with Mercedes. Many year ago the gentleman who lived opposite had an old Rolls. He eventually sold it as it cost too much (petrol) to drive round to the village for his daily paper. He bought a Mini! |

Posted - 03 May 2016 : 9:21:46 PM Dear Glo's Dad,
If indeed it was you at the BMW showroom in Winchester circa 1986, I humbly apologise for my comments on your appearance.
Respectfully
Diana
PS I hope you got a new shirt. |

Posted - 03 May 2016 : 6:52:26 PM Love it! We once had a car (not a Roller!) which had straw under the back seat as the previous owner had used it as a calfmobile! |

Posted - 03 May 2016 : 4:29:40 PM Many, many moons ago a farmer who lived locally (before my time) bought a Rolls Royce and he used to take his pet pig (a hand reared orphan) around in the back of his car. When he went to buy a new one a couple of years later they refused to sell him one as that "wasn't the image they wanted for their cars@"! |

Posted - 02 May 2016 : 11:25:02 AM Glo, that reminds me of something.
Years'n'years ago I took my (then) man to our local BMW garage to pick up his car after a service. I waited in the car park in case it wasn't ready. This great fat slobby bearded man wearing what looked like a whitish yellow nylon shirt waddled into the showroom and left shortly afterwards in a new registration BMW 735i. He'd just picked it up after a service too. As the saying goes ... you can't judge a book by it's cover.
No offence intended to other great fat slobby etc etc |

Posted - 02 May 2016 : 09:36:06 AM I think they don't look at what you look like any more! My dad went to a Mercades showroom to buy a new car, no one would serve him as he had come from work, and probaley looked like a tramp!!
So went to BMW and brought a new car! When it arrived, he went back to the Merc showroom to show it to them!

Posted - 02 May 2016 : 08:01:13 AM Good idea Glo, but I think if I tried that I'd have to park my old Estate around the corner! P.S. I worked in a garage for 10 years and noticed how they were always near pubs! |

My husband used to have a porsche I would often be at the showroom when we had it serviced ect, there would be real ground coffee, smelled lovley, and all sorts of nice treets on offer, if you went to all 4 you could make it lunch!
