Posted - 12 Feb 2016 : 10:22:10 AM I am waiting for one of my pupsters to come home. I feel sorry for his owners who are having to part with him, but I am also excited to be seeing him again. Unfortunately his owner (who is a single parent nurse) has been restructured to 12 hour shifts. She has 2 young boys, one a teenager, but not old enough to stay in the house overnight alone so they have to go to grandmas. Grandma is too frail to look after a young retriever. They are gutted, and are doing the right thing for the dog rather than keeping him kennelled outside or locked in alone. he should be here any time soon! |

Posted - 17 Feb 2016 : 07:58:04 AM That happened to a friend of mine. She bred GSD's for many years and all had beautiful temperaments. She took one back that had been badly treated and unfortunately it was so food aggressive and possessive over everything that after several months of no improvement she had pup pts as she felt she was not safe to be rehomed. Very very sad outcome. |

Posted - 16 Feb 2016 : 3:26:47 PM Great news, nice when they have been well looked after and trained.
Many years ago I bought back a GSD at 8 months old and what a nightmare. Turned out that he had been chained up outside, wasn't house trained, didn't walk on the lead, jumped on everything, stole food out of your hand; you name it, he did it.
He was a beautiful dog who had been ruined. Luckily I knew someone who knew a guy who trained dogs as guard dogs with handlers and he took him, trained him and sold him to the police and he got several commendations so a happy ending eventually! |

Posted - 12 Feb 2016 : 9:01:18 PM I have never had to get rid of a pet but it must be heartbreaking for the owners. Enjoy your new member of the family. |
