Prince Kartiszhani (Prince Shazani x Ankartis) (Herod/Sharaz/ Antoon/Kariszma) 03/06/1995 AHSBv18, is safely tucked in at our liitle yard on the North Downs.
Travelled beautifully, wandered into his new stable as if he'd lived there all his life, tucked into his hay, ate his tea, yawned a few times, watched the comings and goings of evening stables, blew his nose and promptly went to sleep!
Exxie strutted up the ramp of my friend's box last night looking like a million dollars, was chauffered to her new horse hotel, and apparently did pretty much the same when she got there, too: I'll have to find some new horse things to worry about now!
I will ask the lovely Rui to post a pic of Prince K, so you can admire him too. Bred by a local lady whose name is the same as mine: spooky.

If you really need a little extra the NS Universal - same mouthpiece as yours but different sides works wonders on my ex racer.I am a small weakling too and find the NS Universal gives me a bit of say when my boy is insisting on 'winning' his imaginary race! I swop between this bit and the NS Team up.
Love your up date, pleased he is proving to be Mr Wonderful.  |

Zooscat you and Prince K are doing so well he is already changing and revealing all new paces in a short time with your knowledge and kindness  . I wouldn't up the bit unless you need to for hacking out for your safety. I am thinking there is still more he has to give to your wonderful partnership so I wouldn't change a thing for now.

Sounds like your doing well together, I still get the srunchey nose,flat ears ect and I have had my mare 10 years, you will get used to it and won't notice it, when people comment on the faces and look scared, I realise how bad it is.
But like you I love the chestnut (Orange) and I can look past her faces. Shame you don't live nearer I could do with some one, brave, a little mad and good fun around here. |

Hi Callisto - glad you're back, I was a bit worried you had fallen off your oil rig, or whatever outlying post you work at . Glad it's was just the computer playing up! Well, Prince K remains wonderful, pity about the "no brakes, I'm a show-jumper, the only brakes I do are handbrake turns", but he is also now striding out in walk, (over tracks all the time in all paces) discovered the most amazing extended trot, and a lovely canter - just beware the temptation to go into overdrive! Working in a lovely natural relaxed outline in the school, with very little input from me, other than sitting quiet and swinging along in time with him. He will, when tuned in after a bit of practice, halt when I think it, and move up a gear when I lift my seat bones on an in breath. But, when in working trot, difficult for me to sit firmly enough (old, less muscle mass, 7.5 stone weakling!) not keen on bitting up to a Pelham from the Neue Schule trans lozenge loose ring snaffle, though. What do you - and the rest of the wise ALiners think about this?
Sorry for the ramble, as you can tell, I'm besotted with The Orange One!
He has a lovely deep shine on his coat, is relaxing the scrunchy nose, flat ears, squinty eyes, thin lipped faces we were met with every day for the first ten days or so. |

Two horses in two days, actually, and norty Exxie went the day before PK arrived! Yard is lovely and Dear Old Owner and YM being very accommodating about sqeezing S in. You can't have PK, because he's settled, stopped being grumpy/flat/stary coated/withdrawn and has turned into Mr Live Wire! You don't need any more stress - riding a bouncy loon! Actually, he's just wonderful, and my focus for the next few months is to persuade him to stretch, steady a bit and stop his slightly mad short, pottering "I'm a showjumper in concertina mode" from taking over. He can do stretch, work through and balance, but will take quite some time to build the right muscles. |

Just put 2 and 2 together, bit slow at mo, I can understand why you are a bit stressed as well, how's it going with your new boy Prince K, two horses if a few week is hard work to start off with. Your yard looks very nice ( as dose Prince) you may will find him missing one day ( wasn't me) as he is lovely and certainly my type of horse. |

Obviously a day when beautiful souls arrived on earth!
I spent an anxious night imagining all sorts of drama while I was away from him - just the 15 minutes away, you understand, and he is in an enclosed courtyard, with the farmhouse in the northern wall, with geese and sharp-eared collies on guard in the yard, and cats sitting sentinel on the stable doors, and the utter deep silence of remote countryside all around . . . K crashing around from colic, becoming cast, coughing and choking, being stolen away by jealous fairies/perambulating personnel and every other nasty event would immediately create uproar to wake the dead! It would also ensure that The Land Owner in said farmhouse would leap out, flat cap wedged on head and shotgun under arm, and be in there, sorting it all out! Anyway, at 06:00hrs, K was rapping the door in a suitably Princely manner, and demanding the staff hurry up with his breakfast! Staff duly obliged. Grippet and I arrived at 06:30hrs and he'd gone back to sleep, flat out on the massive shavings bed, with lips rolled back in what looked like a satisfied grin. And there he remained, whilst I did round him, groomed one side and his tail, and then sat and had a nice chat and a cup of tea.
YM takes over at 08:00hrs, so ICO the rest of the day.
Can't wait to get back to him - he really is such a dude |

He is so beautiful, spooky too though Zoocat - he has the same birthday as me (although not the same year, I am much older ) no wonder I was drawn to him! |
