Posted - 23 Oct 2015 : 2:08:20 PM Quarabian fingers crossed yours return next year, sadly they are in decline according to the birdwatchers who come up to ours. Ari maybe next year they will raise chicks . Its very quiet in the stables without the birds swooping in and out , i look forward to them coming back in the spring . I was in our conservatory the other day and there was such a bang above my head on the roof, a House martins nest had fallen down from under the eaves , gave me such a shock. The nest is all lined out in feathers and looks like it had been ever so cosy, they will hopefully build themselves a new one in the spring when they return fingers crossed. |

Posted - 22 Oct 2015 : 9:22:35 PM My house martins did come back, didn't raise chicks. Must have been a bad year fingers crossed for next spring. Swallows did great at farm this summer. Dark nights and winter to get through then we can welcome them all back

Posted - 22 Oct 2015 : 3:45:50 PM Just a sad note to say that my Martins never did arrive this year. I missed them dreadfully. I hope they return next year. The swallows were fine, lots of babies, but all gone now. |

Posted - 07 Jul 2015 : 7:36:32 PM I am worried. Mine are not here yet. Swallows already have their first broods out and about. "Come home Martins, please, I keep a muddy patch for you to repair the nests" |

Posted - 15 Jun 2015 : 9:43:41 PM Glad they are coming home Ari and Judith, mine are very busy repairing nests and also building new ones as the House Sparrows steal the poor House Martins nests before they arrive back home. |

Posted - 20 May 2015 : 7:39:26 PM Glad yours are back. They have had a nest on my burgler alarm for several seasons but it's still empty. I have read that if weather not great they go to wetlands first to stock up on food so hoping they are on their way north. |
