Posted - 30 Sep 2014 : 8:05:59 PM What a wonderful summer we have had and its carried into Autumn. Tonight in West Yorks is so warm it's strange that it's dark. I know it can't last so riding very day and still enjoying the garden.

Posted - 07 Oct 2014 : 8:22:40 PM Well of course I am much more further South here in Tuscany but we are having sunny 26C these days and forecast says temperatures will rise up to 29C this week! People were swimming at the beach on Sunday… Horses are feeling hot as their winter coat has started growing (shorter days and fresher nights).Crickets singing in my garden under the full moon right now.Confused trees are sprouting new leaves and even some flowers (that will freeze at the first cold…).Unfortunately, mosquitoes and horseflies aplenty Seriously,I am longing for at least a couple of weeks of cold this winter (we haven't had a winter at all last year) to hopefully decimate the damned flying critters! |

Posted - 06 Oct 2014 : 5:37:08 PM Glad I rugged last night as it lashed it down here and fields very exposed being next to the moor. October can be hard work knowing what to do for the best rug wise as my boy is better out whilst the grass holds up then in at night. Fingers crossed you get roof done quickly Glo, forecast is set to improve. |

Posted - 06 Oct 2014 : 12:07:54 PM Glo i shall keep my fingers crossed it stays dry for you till your roof is done. Its lashing down , blowing a gale and 8 c here today, on my third lot of clothes, even my native ponies were shivering in the fields so been out rugging up, my TB mares rug has leaked overnight ( lightweight ) so shes now got a dry one on, supposed to dry up later though |

Posted - 06 Oct 2014 : 09:04:51 AM Well it's raining here to day, but over the last few weeks managed to do lots of small jobs around the yard and can say that almost ready for winter. Just waiting for my bedding to be delivered. I still would like it to be nice for the next few weeks as our house is being re roofed and as always as soon as the scaffding is up the rain has come. |

Posted - 02 Oct 2014 : 11:48:05 AM We are having lovely weather up north , woke up to a frost this morning but suns out now so warming up. Hate to say it but we could do with some rain where we live, its supposed to be on its way in the next few days. The leaves are crunching under foot which i love the sound of ( i am easy pleased ) still no rugs on the outside lot , some still got flyrugs though. |

Posted - 01 Oct 2014 : 6:35:03 PM I had a sweaty horse Saturday after a long but steady hack, must be the first time he's got a sweat on since we had the last warm autumn. I have never clipped him as once cold weather kicks in he's cool enough for hacking. He maybe in for the clipping experience if we have a very mild winter. I agree rugs off as long as possible, watched my boy and his pal "grooming " each other in the field tonight enjoying the evening sun. |

Posted - 01 Oct 2014 : 11:23:18 AM Isn't it great; I am a hothouse plant, hate winter when it is cold, wet and miserable. Usually we have very little summer and months of winter so hopefully this year will continue to be different and we will have a short winter. |
