Posted - 24 Dec 2011 : 2:59:15 PM I had to say goodbye to my little Ginger Lion this morning. I don't know what he died of, perhaps he found something poisonous though we don't have anything here.
He was a gentle little ginger cat born to my Birman, Mitten and had to be partly hand reared. I am so glad he made it back to the house last night so I knew that he could have a comfy blanket by the radiator. He came in very lethargic late last night, managed a few licks of milk before I nestled him in a box in the bathroom (safe from the attention of Poppy the JR). He didn't seem in pain, just very tired and floppy. At 4 am I went to check on him. He purred for me and was having a go at washing himself. So I was surprised to see that he had slipped away in the night when I checked again in the morning. I am very sad but pleased that he didn't just disappear as so many cats do, and that we could make his last night a comfortable one.
I am still waiting to see Wizz Purr and Tress Puss at the window. Some of you may remember them from a previous post, still missing. |

Posted - 25 Dec 2011 : 11:07:03 AM Thanks you for all your messages about Ginger Lion. The two missing cats have been gone for 6 months now, my only hope is that they arre tucked up in front of someone elses fire.
Wizz had gone before but come back after a couple of weeks. Perhaps she found somewhere without dogs and came back for her friend Tress. That is what I choose to believe anyway, and being cats they might still turn up as if nothing has happened. |

Posted - 25 Dec 2011 : 12:09:56 AM Oh, so sorry to hear this. RIP Ginger lion; what a lucky boy you were to be warm, comfy and loved by your mummy.
I must have missed your other post, Quarabian - you must be out of your mind with worry. How long have they been missing?
I hope they come home soon.

Posted - 24 Dec 2011 : 3:29:29 PM RIP Ginger Lion, you died happy and warm, and not at the hand of a vet, what a lovely way to go. One of mine went the same way last week she was a feral so it was nice for her to leave this world warm with a full tummy. |
