Posted - 23 Jun 2009 : 3:55:41 PM Only 1 so far but huge, huge congratulations to Kevin and Jennifer for achieving 1st in the ridden open gelding class with Kamar Al Karif, taking the hoys ticket and being reserve champion (kamar is the liver chestnut in my sig pic).
Kevin and Jennifer started to show Kamar for me last year and decided to loan him. They have schooled him perfectly and I am very proud of them and Kamar.
Well done to all other competitors who have shown today. |

Ahh Vicki, I never knew that about Kamar coming before the name of your stud. I just thought you'd bought Kam at weaning and asked Andrew to register his name as your stud suffix, if that all makes sense. |

Posted - 26 Jun 2009 : 12:07:14 PM Well Done Kamar.....
And also to everyone involved in getting him to Hoys.
Indeed we did own Kamar for a number of years as a youngster and Al Karif is what it is today because of him.
We bought him as a weanling from Andrew Tonge. Loved his brother Kazmierado so ended up with Kamar. He is a real sweetie. Glad he has such a fantastic home. Emma & Kevin keep in touch, see you at Hoys. |

Posted - 24 Jun 2009 : 9:03:39 PM Thank you Loosefur, what a small world indeed.
Tzarina, Kamar was bred by Andrew Tongue as he is by Kazmierek and Seranata. I think Vicki and Brenda bought him at weaning and owned him for approx 7ish years using him at their stud. Not sure of the exact time without checking his papers but I'm sure Vicki will correct me if I'm wrong.
Kamar has some babies out there somewhere but I'm not sure how many or what they're up. |

Posted - 23 Jun 2009 : 9:41:01 PM Missed the ridden classes but got there in time for the championship.
Champion was anglo/partbred Heavenly Blue Boy Res was Kamar Al Karif
Congrats to Emagetic - what a lovely boy. He went beautifully. Weirdly on checking the catalogue it seems Kevin lives one door up from where my Auntie used to live in Preston. Small world!
Egatist was 1st stallion, Bolaero 2nd - both were lovely. Darker Shade of Grey must have been second in the gelding section as he was also up for the Championship - again lovely horse. Only the one mare (Crown of Shimmering Gold) came forward for the championship so don't know any other placings in that class. |
