NORTH
WALES REGIONAL GROUP AHS SPRING SHOW 07/04/07
The
sun shone on the morning of 7th April making the venue and
its surroundings look quite spectacular. The Welsh College
of Horticulture at Northop was closed for the Easter holiday
thus necessitating some of the students to take their horses
home for the break but some remained and continued to graze
in the adjacent fields. It has now become apparent that this
venue needs to be booked a year in advance and it is obvious
that judges’ commitments are tied up the same way. We
were very pleased to welcome Mrs. Fiona Grant Chivers to North
Wales for the day and this year she was accompanied by a trainee
judge, Mrs. Tracey Holland.
Our
competitors started to arrive and entries were taken on the
day, so overall we were very pleased with the turn out
and the quality of the horses’ forward was quite outstanding.

job on the day and Mr. Alex Knott assisted by Mr. John Penrose,
our two stewards, who carried out their duties in the usual
efficient and professional standard we have come to expect.
Thanks are also recorded to everybody who helped on the day,
in particular our Show Secretary, Mrs. Sue Walmsley and all
others who supported the Show not forgetting Sally Roberts
for judging the unaffiliated classes. Mrs. Tracey Holland telephoned
to say how much she had enjoyed herself and also commented
on the good quality of the horses forward. It was a wonderful
day! Blue Print Studios were present for the whole of the Show
recording all our classes.
