Cornwall
seems to breed top class Endurance riders, so it’s
no wonder that the South West Group rides held in that County
are so well supported. This year the popular Minions ride
moved to
a new venue just outside the village at the home of joint
organiser Susan Speed, giving better access straight out
onto the moor and
more than 100 riders enjoyed a great day on Bodmin Moor.

The feature ride is the 80km ER, which attracted a good entry
of 8 horses, including 3 British Internationals. There were 4
finishers
in the class which was won by Rachael Claridge riding her team
horse Silver Mistrahl. A racing finish for second place saw
Caroline Lloyd and Lustre come in just ahead of young rider Emily
Knott
on Mithryl. The final finisher was Nicky Sherry on her International
horse Bella Joya. It was good to see this talented mare back
in action after a long lay off due to illness.
