European
Endurance Championship Results
The FEI-EIER
Open European Championships were held at Compiegne in France
on Friday 26th August. Seventeen teams of riders rode for
the titles of European, and Open Champions, in teams, and
as individuals. Altogether 113 riders representing 27 nations
took part in the event. The race, over 160km, started at
0.600hrs from the Compiegne racecourse and finished that
evening.
The
winning teams from Europe were – 1. Belgium 2.
France 3. Switzerland 4. Spain.
The
individual European champions were –
1. Kristel Van Den Abeele (BEL) on Chanice du Tilleul. Av 17.47kph
2. Elodie Le Labourier (FRA) on Sangho’Limousian. Av. 17.30kph
3. Geraldine Brualt (FRA) on Galagolan Dudesert. Av. 17.13kph
4. Urs Wenger (SUI) on Zialka. Av 16.97kph
The winner
of the Best Conditioned was a French horse Galagolan Dudesert
who finished 6th overall.
The
British competitors finished as follows -
Sally Hall on Bob’s
Your Uncle 35th;Roz Jackson on Hannah 36th; Trisha Hurst
eliminated at vet gate 3 but completed; Mary Stubbs and
Audrey Clarke vetted out at vet gate 3; and Pauline Beach
vetted out at vet gate 2.

Team Champions were the UAE Team consisting of -

HE Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed Al Maktoum on Orcara – 3rd overall
HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Jazyk – 22nd overall
