Situated
north of Portsmouth, Hampshire, the change from breeding New Forest
ponies to partbred Arab horses began in 1969 when the New Forest
mare Ramblers Pick n Choose was bred to the Arabian stallion Cranleigh
Red Shadow. She produced a filly foal, the first Shabana foal,
who became a foundation mare for the stud.
The
step to breeding pure bred Arabians came in 1977, when we acquired
the colt foal Indian Sabre. He was by Cranleigh Fredrec out of
Indian Fair. He remained with us until his death in 2000 aged
23 years. His going has left a gap which will never be filled.

He has a superb head,
correct conformation, straight movement and a sweet and gentle
nature. His get are everything one could hope for. One son is
in training at the moment and is about to enter racing over hurdles.
Other offspring have been shown and won in hand including championships.
His get will shortly be of an age to be ridden and we look forward
to seeing the various disciplines in which they will compete.
