RACE SUMMARY

Little Maybelle was quickly away and disputed the lead with Hardtoback with Sugar Dandy in third after setting off a couple of lengths behind. That proved crucial as Hardtoback had enough speed to burn off the challenge of Sugar Dandy in the final furlong.

The runner up was a bit disappointing after his good run at Stratford but had been sweating beforehand. The winner is best at this distance and will not have another opportunity like this until next season.

Field of Dreams was 6lbs wrong at the weights and didn`t have the speed to trouble the front two over 6 furlongs. Little Maybelle did well to finish so close at the weights but did have the benefit of a good start. Chiloe is better over further.

RACE SUMMARY

Ares De Chavagne was soon in the lead, shook off Maximillion 3 furlongs out and scooted clear, eased up in the final furlong.

The Silver Gambler took advantage of the tiring Maximillion to grab 2nd but was never near the winner. Maximillion might have won this without the winner in the field and was the only one to try to make a race of it.

Starinsky`s saddle slipped 4 furlongs from home and he was never travelling thereafter. L`Enchanteur Royale ran on and will benefit from the experience.

RACE SUMMARY

Borealis always led and shook off Remartino, easing up in the final furlong.

Remartino chased the winner gamely but could never get to the front though the others were beaten off with a circuit to go. Romany Rascal was upsides the 3rd and 4th with a circuit to go but his rider was unseated with a mile still to race.

Tzarinsky was flattered to finish so close to the eased Great Lady.

RACE SUMMARY

Riverdance was only the third best backed horse in the betting ring but in the race she was always travelling easily on the heels of the leaders and went to the front over a furlong from home his rider looking round for dangers.

It must have been a familiar sight because the first three home here filled the same positions at Warwick two weeks ago. Island Star was 9lbs better off here but was beaten the same distance and Dhorgaam was 4lbs better but was beaten an extra 2 ½ l. Dhorgaam has now finished 2nd thrice to the two most progressive horses of the season Riverdance and Sabez.

Gaynif set the pace until overtaken in the final quartermile. PHA Khamoun was well backed but was a disappointment, beaten 3 furlongs out. Island Benedict was 8lbs wrong at the weights and wasn`t disgraced. There aren`t many suitable races left for him but he could win again when racing off his proper handicap mark.

RACE SUMMARY

In a tactical race Bibi Royale was always in the front rank and ran on well to beat off first SA Bibi and then the late run of Semawe who spoiled his chance by hanging right in the final furlong. The winner improved about 6lbs from last week`s Stratford contest which could have been due to the galloping nature of Taunton or the extra distance of the race.

Segovia Sunrise was close enough if good enough but had to be switched when the runner up hung across and he was eased about 3 lengths. Mural De Feu was heavily backed but was never at the races being left behind after 2 furlongs.

RACE SUMMARY

Iamys de Carrere was always clear and was 30 lengths ahead when eased from 2 furlongs out, the runner up putting up a spirited show which kept the crowd (who had bet on the distance) interested. Not too much should be read into the bare result.
