Waadi (Makzan x Nega) won the opening maiden nicely, building
on is useful effort at Exeter, he has clearly come on for the
race and remains a useful prospect over sprint trips. Earlsdon
(Akbar x Elgonda) was always travelling well and was staying
on at the finish but had no chance with the winner. Deraasaat
(Izentespeshal x Maderba De Piboul) was handy throughout and
was making ground in the closing stages but was never nearer.
The
Web-Simple Banded Stakes (B & C) over 6 Furlongs:
1. Millenium Leap Mrs. V Murphy

3. Kizhi Mr. P Collington
Distances: short head, 5 9 ran Time: 01:19:07

Millenium Leap (Khairoaun x Balla Star) claimed her second win
in as many runs under the capable hands of trainers wife Valerie
Murphy who seems to have found the key to this mare, always handy
she claimed the far rail to come home just a short head in front
of Karaviva (Normativ x Sunlea Kaprina). The latter was gaining
with every stride down the stands rail; and the two fought out
a bobbing finish down the home strait and look useful sprinters.
Kizhi (Khairoaun x Sucha) showed her first signs of form for
new trainer Sam Davison and will perhaps fare better when stepped
up in trip.

to claim
this staying

ride from David Turner, although he had to pull out all the stops
to get home from the staying on Operatic (Vert Olive x Operetta
(Silver Scenario)), who laid down a serious challenge in the
home straight but went down gallantly by half a length. Ami D’Jani
(Tidjani x Amira D’Albret) was one paced back in third
but clear of the field.

(Normativ x Mehsha (Shahpoor)) ran strongly chasing the winner
all the way to the line but was never going to get there. Whilst

Smart
performer Lamasat (Bengali D’Albret x Komet) started
the season as she means to go on with an emphatic victory over
Argentinian import Baraka Ibn Shahtess (Baraka Mahatsi x Shahtess),
she quickened away smartly in the final furlong and remains a
leading contender for the Group 1 Hatta Stakes on Dubai Day in
which she was third last year. Deolali (Khairoaun x Operetta)
seems out of sorts at the moment but stayed on for third.

owned and trained by Mr. W Smith. Bred by DJ Bloodstock & J
Dohle.
Diamond Ring (Magic Ring x Reticent Bride) was third on her
debut in a useful race at Wolverhampton behind smart performer
Exclusive Air, she looked very impressive here in slamming the
opposition, and clearly appreciated the step down in trip and
looks progressive. Robury (Robellino x Youdontsay) ran well in
second keeping on in the final furlong but had no chance with
the winner. Whilst Alastair Smellie (Sabrehill x Reel Foyle)
was hard ridden in third and clear of the field.
