The Emirates Arabian Premier Handicap Stakes (75-115) 1 Mile 5 Furlongs:
1. Lamasat
W Supple
2. CS Al Wahed Mr. P Deymonaz
3. Fripon Al Maury Mr. S Walker

Distances: 2 ½, head 6 ran

Winner owned by HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Trained by Mrs. G Duffield. Bred by Shadwell Estate Company Ltd.

A major upset here as the evens favourite CS Al Wahed was beaten by Lamasat (Bengali D’Albret x Komet). CS Al Wahed almost fell out of the stalls and after that was never travelling whilst the winner tried to gain the advantage of the rail and came across to the stands rail and in doing so hampered CS Al Wahed (Bengali D’Albret x Cikada (Klarnet )) to such an extent that Willie Supple was given a 3 day ban for careless riding. Having said that nothing should be taken away from the winner Lamasat who travelled supremely well and was cruising in behind CS Al Wahed before quickening clear to win by an easy 2 ½ lengths, she deserved this compensation for narrowly loosing out to A Mans Man on her debut at Wolverhampton. CS Al Wahed never looked happy from his clumsy start and was never really going, he had to battle on to hold onto second ahead of Fripon Al Maury (Djouras Tu x Fayoum) who he beat over this distance at Fontwell by 18 lengths.
