Winning The Kelanne Stud Stakes, 3.00

Huntingdon 26th

Track: Firm, Good to Firm

The Clarendon Stud Maiden Stakes 1 Mile 1 Furlong:
1. Tarfih Mr. P Collington
2. Miss Moncrieff Mr. B J Boulton
3. Elk Bay Mr. S Walker

Distances: 3, ½ 4 ran Time: 01:59:60

Winner owned by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin R Al Maktoum. Trained by Mrs. G Duffield. Bred by Shadwell Estate Company Ltd.

The opening maiden was won in fine style by yet another smart recruit from the all powerful Gill Duffield yard when the impeccably bred Tarfih (Dormane X Simooma (Vadeer)) kicked clear in the final furlong to win by a comfortable three lengths. Miss Moncrieff (Makzan X Zeinah (Samsheik)) ran well in second and looks to be on an attractive mark and should open her account soon, whilst Elk Bay (Khairouan X Elina Des Fabries (Dormane)) did little to enhance his Derby claims with third although after swinging violently wide on the final turn he did well to finish as close as he did.

The Hichingbrooke Classified Stakes (0-55) 6 Furlongs:
1. WA Savannah Sunrise Mr. R G Woollard
2. FH Dynamique Mr. P Deymonaz
3. Bedonia Mr. S Holdsworth

Distances: short head, neck 10 ran Time: 01:23:50

Winner owned and trained by Ms. C Taylor. Bred by Mr. & Mrs. P Wooster.

The Hichingbrooke Classified stakes produced a tight finish with less than a length covering the first four. WA Savannah Sunrise (Dantist X Sasparilla Sunrise(Maleik El Kheil)) was produced with a well timed ride by Rob Woollard to score in the shadow of the post, just holding on by a short head from long time leader FH Dynamique (Makzan X Desna (Kumir)) who was a shade unlucky. Bedonia (Dujani X Byelka (Top)) on her first start for Stuart Shefras ran her usual gutsy race and would have won in another few strides, she looks weighted to score soon.

The Kelanne Stud Stakes 1 Mile 2 Furlongs:
1. Eau Royal Mr. P Collington
2. Nadjel Mr. M Smith
3. Kolver Mr. S Walker

Distances: ½, 2 ½ 3 ran Time: 02:16:99

Winner owned by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin R Al Maktoum. Trained by Mrs. G Duffield. Bred by EARL Du Moulin, M. W. Orban.

Former UAE Derby winner Eau Royal (Djel Bon X Wednah (Brusally Orzelost)) proved his good health with a power packed display over this one mile two furlong trip, always traveling well Phil Collington produced him to lead in the final furlong to score by a cosy half length. Multiple Group winner Nadjel (Djelfor X Super Nana (Tidjani)) ran his race but really needs a greater test of stamina, whilst Kolver (Vert Olive X Kenithra (Djouras Tu)) looked tapped for toe over this trip in this company.

The Jebel Ali Racing Club (Series Qualifier) Handicap Stakes (0-65) 1 Mile 6 Furlongs:
1. Allahmes Mr. P Collington
2. Raihan Mr. S Walker
3. French Cracker Mr. D Turner

Distances: 14, 1 12 ran Time: 03:03:70

Winner owned and trained by Mr. W Hill. Bred by Mrs. S J Turner.

It’s been a long four years since twelve year old Allahmes (Azahmes X Numenor Nim Allatari (Mel Nimbo)) last won, but back over this favoured stamina sapping trip of one mile six furlongs he scored as he liked galloping his rivals into submission to give his ecstatic owner/ trainer Bill Hill a first win of the season with a flashy fifteen length win. Raihan (Passem Lotois X G Sustika (Sam Tiki)) ran an eye catching race in her first attempt over this trip and she should open her account soon, whilst the third French Cracker (Frere Des Loups X Sihrea Crystal (Crystal Magician)) looks well handicapped and relished this trip.

The Town & Country Novice Riders Handicap Stakes (0-75) 1 Mile 1 Furlong:1.
1. Roches Du Cayrou Mr. B Norris
2. FH Panache Mr. D R Cook
3. Lile D’Amour Miss. A Wallace

Distances: ½, 2 9 ran Time: 02:01:60

Winner owned and trained by Mrs. D Thomas. Bred by M. J-M Baldy & M. C Vallee.

Roches Du Cayrou (Newday X Kahinaoura (Dakari)) made the long trip from Wales worth the effort for his connections when scooting home in the novice rider stakes under a cheeky ride from Ben Norris who got him up in the dieing strides to just deny FH Panache (Djebbel X Protalina (Topol)). The second looks to be slowly coming to hand and should score off his current mark, whilst the third Lile D’Amour (Merlin Al Maury X Daad (Dynamite III)) was a further two lengths back in third and looks to be a true miler.

The Huntingdon Racecourse Restricted Maiden Stakes 6 Furlongs:
1. Merlin De Carrere Mr. S Harrison
2. Spyros Mr. M Sheridan
3. Almost All Mr. D T Weeks

Distances: ½, 2 12 ran Time: 01:22:00

Winner owned by The Day In Toulose Partnership. Trained by Miss. G Ward. Bred by M. Guy Dell’Ova.

The second maiden of the day was won in fine style by Merlin De Carrere (Dormane X Qu’aty De Carrere (Elborat)) to give the Georgina Ward yard a timely boost, he traveled well and then quickened clear nicely in the final furlong, although he had to pull out all the stops to repel the late thrust of the Georgie Moore trained Spyros (Saker X Miralda (Kasadi)). The second made an eye catching racecourse debut and looks like a smart prospect. Whilst Almost All (Bengali D’Albret X Emotsia (Esplendor)) plugged on for third after being outpaced in the final two furlongs, he seems to be going the right way.

The CM Cole Graduation Stakes (0-115) 6 Furlongs (Anglo & PBA) :
1. Pride Of James Mr. S Holdsworth
2. Hardtoback Mr. R Woollard
3. Chiloe Miss. A Hockley

Distances: 3 ½, 2 ½ 6 ran Time: 01:15:30

Winner owned and trained by Mr. S M Shefras. Bred by Ms. C Muldoon.

Stuart Shefras’s team got off to a flying start when Pride of James (Linwood Sweet Excalibur X Harvest Dome (Salt Dome)) cantered clear of his rivals in the CM Cole Graduation Stakes, always handily placed he came with a run in the final two furlongs and pulled clear to win by a comfortable three and half lengths. Hardtoback (Norton Challenger X Harem (Harkem)) set the pace and came with a challenge two furlongs out but had to settle for second, whilst Chiloe (Saratogan X Belle D’Un Soir (Manganate)) seemed to find this trip a shade on the sharp side in third.
