The Emirates Arabian Premier Handicap Stakes (0-95) 6 Furlongs:

2. Merlin De Carrere Mr. S Harrison
3. CS Patriarch Mr. D I Turner

Distances: 3, 1 8 ran Time: 01:19:04

Winner owned by Wayward Racing. Trained by Mr. R K Baily. Bred by Mrs. S Boorman.

The six furlong handicap stakes was run at a fast pace as the leading pair of Olivphaya and Mutamarres took them along at a decent gallop, with Merlin De Carrere and CS Patriarch racing prominently in behind. At the two furlong mark recent Lingfield winner CS Patriarch took up the running and went to the front, only to be overcome in the final furlong by Merlin De Carrere. However, the eventual winner Wayward Faery (Kesberoy X Faery Wand) was stalking the pair ominously and quickened up in devastating style in the final furlong to pull readily clear of the leading pair to score by a comfortable three lengths. The second recent Huntingdon winner Merlin De Carrere (Dormane X Qu’aty De Carrere) ran with promise and showed plenty of speed but had no answer to the winner. CS Patriarch (Makzan X Pokrovka) was a further length back in third and was prominent throughout, he looks progressive and was clear of the useful Olivphaya (Vert Olive X Phaya).
