Yes Rachael, thats him, now a lofty 15hh and only 15months old. Very pleased with him and will enjoy watching him grow and see what he finally makes.
Havn`t got any recent pics of him, quite TB to look at Large Show hack in type but could well make an eventer or Anglo racehorse??

Shame the new AHS ruling for plaiting in Part-bred classes wasn't enforced, resulting in an unplaited Res Ch.

so disappointed we didn't make it with dirty harry, due to a last minute let down with transport. He was suited, booted, plaited and polished when we got the news at 6am that we couldn't go. Was really pleased when we realised AA and PB's had been split due to enough entries and decided to go without harry and spectate. So sad that many entered did not actually get there. as jean said, none in the smaller yearling PB class but 3 entered. But worse than that i thought were the classes with one forward, how disappointing to put in all that effort and expense to find you've won because you stood alone. There must be many good reasons for people not going in the end, but i for one would like to apologise to all for not being able to get there and hope that the winners of such classes did not feel to disapointed at the lack of competition. It will not happen to us again, have our own transport coming shortly thankfully. Always difficult relying on others. Congratulations and well done to all who got there. |

Come off it Babs I tried to get one eye to go in each direction but they ended up crossed !!! All I can say is that the Novice Ridden Anglo was won by my filly's half sister Oakways Excellent Magic who took Res. Champion to He's A Diamond.
gem@oakmeister. Yes it's always disappointing when not all entries turn up but it was fantastic to see 14 really quality animals forward for the supreme Anglo/Part-bred Championship although it would have been nice if this was held in the Main Ring which Sally Etchells has promised for next year. Our new quiet ring with its OWN Grandstand and a truly old fashioned friendly atmosphere was a delight although not all classes really warranted splitting which didn't help the small class problem.
Personally we would like to thank Sally for not only coming down to our ring but acting as Steward and listening to Competitors comments, in contrast to the President who again failed to acknowledge the existence of Anglos & Part-breds.

I thought the new anglo/PB ring worked well and it was nice to have only a short walk from the stables.
It would be nice next year to have a bit of commentary to keep the spectators informed though, and the supreme anglo/PB champ should go back in the main ring in my opinion - so thanks Sally for promising this for next year! And so many classes in one ring on one day meant that it ran on late I know Sally did a great job of keeping things moving but as this ring was empty quite a lot on Thursday and (all of?) Friday maybe the PBs and Anglos should be split on separate days as they used to be?
....had a great show with my coloured PB Perriland Politician taking the PB Gelding Championship and then the Reserve Supreme anglo/PB!! Thrilled with this result in a real quality supreme championship. Thanks to Jeff Grace for doing a (predictably!) fantastic job of handling him to win the over 4yr old Gelding class while I was riding a pure bred mare in the other ring, and for handing the reins over to me for the champ and supreme.
