Hey guys,
We now have 7 Akitas in the pound on limited time and we have very little funds as we already have 6 in safe kennels - 5 of these dogs have been assessed, 1 of them is being asssessed tomorrow and the other will be assessed as soon as we can find someone in the area to do it. We are totally overhwhelmed and need as much help as possible, we have sent an email out to the akita list to ask for assistance, we shall also be messaging all members of our group on facebook, can you please cross post this request for assistance on other forums if you have permission from the moderators to do so. We welcome help in any shape or form, we need foster carers, we need donations, we need people to raise awareness, put posters up locally - everything helps!!
We have:
Belle
Dempsey
Vada who is blind and Akisha who cannot be seperated, they have such a strong bond it wouldnt be fair
Juda
I will post pictures of the other 2 asap.
As always, thanks so much guys.
These dogs are in the yorkshire area but transport can be arranged as we have people all over the country willing to help transport these dogs.

I'll put it on a couple of other forums too, but I don't usually get much response to be honest
Belle looks so sweet and fairly small for an Akita, I just can't take another dog at the moment.
Are they with FOA? Can't Akita welfare help out? or do they not liase? |

Yes they are with FOA and yes they do liase but all the akita rescues are full at the moment with no new homes due to the credit crunch and more dogs waiting to come in.
I am currently trying to save some money to get some kennels put in my garden so i can take at least 2 foster dogs...but no overtime at work at the moment. |

There are lots of dogs on dogpages as well if anyone would like any breed of dog...lots of staffies at the moment.
If my 2 would accept another dog i would have more....dont know if OH would be happy but hey ho it is my job to upset him. |
