I was happy to see the picture of Krasa as we have a granddaughter here for breeding and I can really see how she takes after her damline. Here is a picture of her dam, Krasa's daughter Krasnaya:

We know breeders in Western Canada who have two of Protalina's offspring, Anoryk (Antey) and Popravka (Nadejni).
We have a grand old mare here (Pokeyna) who is out of Protalina's full sister, Pochta. We have basically provided her with a retirement home as I don't believe she will be having any more foals now.

Gosh this thread is making me so desperate!! I have always wanted a straight Russian broodmare, i still havent and this is making me want want want!!
Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to put all these photos on. There have been quite a few who i have known only by their pedigrees and i have always wondered what they look like.

THANKYOU SO MUCH JUDE!!! THANKS ALSO TO ROBBIE!!! I know it sounds daft but I love my old boy so much and he is so beautiful that I wanted to know where it all came from. I just have to research his dam now who is pretty much straight Egyptian. Another thread??
If I knew how to do it I would post Ollie's picture on here as well, just because he is so beautiful.

wow! Robbie & Jude, thanks for the Pomarka pics. I always imagined her to be chestnut for some reason (even though I have written out Poki's pedigree enough times to know she was bay!) - what lovely bright bay she was!
Emma - yes, Poki is a lovely mare and super brood mare. I am meant to be selling her as we need to cut down a couple of horses but I am changing my mind. That mare owes me nothing, she is a great broodmare and easy breeder....... I am 'toying' with the idea of breeding her to a straight Russian for my first straight Russian baby from her..... but I will have to do my research first I think.... |

I did notice she was for sale, ive been telling my OH how well she would fit in here, everything bar Galero is chesnut even the cows, im thinking of calling myself Ginger Arabians!! I remember seeing her at a show, think it was Hocon, bet you have quite a long short list for husbands for her! |
