| Oh Vera, she looks just lovley, do you have any other photos that you can post of her, i have always wonderd what she looked like. Im sure you miss her so much, i had my horse PTS on the 20th Jan, im 26 and have owned him since i was 10, i miss him so much. |

| Vera thats lovely thanks for sharing , i know how hard it is when we loose them i was blow drying my hair this morning looking at my picture of me on Ma'any at Royal Cornwall show back in 2000.He looks so beautiful even now i cant believe hes no longer alive,i guess we have to remember the good times eh but at times its hard xxx . |

For some reason I never realised Perissa was a bay! Wasn't she beautiful. But then I am slightly biased when it comes to bay Arab's!
I think it's nice to talk about and post pictures of our horses that are no longer with us, I think it keeps their memory alive.
How old was Perissa when the picture was taken?

Vera. What a lovely pic of Perissa. I can see where Kariszma and Ibn Al Antoon (tariq) get their good looks from. Have included a pic of Tariq so people can see what I mean. Isn't he as good looking as his grandmother. |

I've gone all gooey and teary. I miss this little mare so much - 21 year together is more then half my lifetime.
She was about 20 in the laying down picture.
This pic was taken in September 2001 when she was 26, her last show and her last red rosette. I lost her 4 days before her 27th birthday in 2002.
Nicky, I lost her to colic, the vets think she had a lipoma in her gut. I hated seeing her in so much pain, the vet wanted to send her to hospital but having seen how a friends horse the same age as Perissa had suffered through being operated on I made a promise that I would not put her on the table and no matter what I would be with her. I kept my promise.
11th April at 11.40am I stood by her while she left for a better place.
I am very pleased that her legacy continues through her daughter Kariszma. I've lost count but Kizzie has had at least 12 foals, her last being Ibn Al Antoon - my grandson as we affectionately call him.

You can't tell from the pics but she had very distinctive markings. She had barring on all for legs, she had a dorsal strip, she had a large white splash on her tummy, a white spot at the back of her knee, a white spot on her shoulder, a black splodge on her flank and roaning throughout her flanks, pink lower lip and finally a distinctive prophets thumb mark.

Vera thank you for telling me, she certainly seemed to be the love of your life, horse wise. I sincerely hope that Dennis has hoped to soften the blow for you.
I lost my first and dearest pony, a new forest, (mentioned in another post you put on here) with a broken leg on the 10th April 1979. I too will never forget that day, as I sat with her for so long, her leg was shattered, and she was in so much pain. I know exactly how you feel.
At least your lovely mare had you as a super mum.

What a lovely lady Vera, I have often wondered what she looked like - such a kind face. I know you miss her dreadfully thankfully have wonderful memories to keep her close at hand.
