Is the stallion Mahadin (Madkour x Mahameh)? If so, is the mare a Madkour daughter? For instance Bint bint Mona (Madkour x Bint Mona)?
This is a long shot, but we've got to try something, haven't we?

Hi Anne,
No the stallion isn't Mahadin But is closely connected with a well known photographer who isn't the one in the photo

Hi Pat,
Well done!! the stallion leased to the UK (by Delyth Gamlin)is GR Amaretto (Classic Shadwan X Halim's Asmara) So what has he to do with the earlier photo?

Holla Mike,
The mare is Ansetta Rosetta 1956(Anseta Shah Zaman - Ansata Bint Burka)
The foal is Ansata Halim Shah 1980(Ansata Ibn Halima - Ansata Rosetta)
Since we are in Anseta the the photographer is Judith Forbis

Hi Bob,
Sorry, I didn't take the picture in the US!So it couldn't have been taken at Ansata.
Here's a hint for you.... try the other side of Amaretto's pedigree The photographer in the picture was taking photo's for an article which appeared in a now defunct publication, since replaced by a website. Sainthood will be conferred on anyone who can name the publication and the author of the article!

Bob, I'm right here, but I'm totally in the dark about this mare
Mike, could you give us a little something? Maybe a decade? Wild guess: Bint Magidaa and Alidar?
Hej Gunni, I think the horse looks like Abu Zeyd - I know it is not him because he had 4 white socks, but maybe one of his get or grandget?? Of course I could easily be totally wrong Do you know where the picture was taken?

OK, this is obviously harder than I thought! So here are some more hints The photo (actually video) was taken in May 1992 in the south of France. The foal is a closer relative of GR Amaretto than the mare. The foal is also connected to the same photographer as Amaretto. The mare had her name changed when she moved to France and was born in Egypt.

All right then, Shagia bint Shadwan and Classic Shadwan
He was born in France in 1992, and his dam was imported from the El Zahraa State stud at Cairo.
Oh, and Classic Shadwan is owned by Erwin Escher, the photograper.
Tell me this is right Mike, pleeeeeeeeease

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!
Quite correct, the very fuzzy photo is of Shagia Bint Shadwan and her son Classic Shadwan. What you can't see unfortunately is just how typey she was! Does anyone want to try for sainthood or shall I come clean with the rest of the information?

Ladies,
It gives me no pleasure to say
NO to the horse
AND great pleasure to say YES
to Emma
Clue No One.
The Maxwell's bred so many horses, but to my knowledge, they had no connections with this horse, breeding wise.
Here is Crusader and Aliha
Sorry Emma you are barred.
